Chapter26
“Well, hello there, Ms. Grillin.”
One of the boys at the back slammed the door shut and locked it.
It was clear they were up to no good. Jennifer backed up until she hit the window, gripping the thermos on her desk tightly.
“What do you want?” she asked.
Her voice was stern, her eyes fierce, but she was just one woman facing a group of young men who were bigger and stronger than her. Her words held no weight.
“Oh, nothing much,” Aaron sneered. “Just wanted to ask if you’ve got a boyfriend. Or maybe you’d give me a shot?”
He jabbed a thumb at himself.
Jennifer forced herself to stay calm. “I’m married. So back off.”
“Even better! Married women know what they’re doing. Why don’t you teach us a thing or two-” Aaron replied, reaching for Jennifer.
But Jennifer smashed her thermos into his temple.
Aaron howled in pain, and the others immediately rushed forward, trying to pin Jennifer down.
Luckily, Jennifer had trained in self–defense and some basic martial arts as a child. She managed to fight them off for a while, and they didn’t gain the upper hand right away.
But she was still a woman–smaller and physically weaker. Besides, she

was outnumbered. So, it didn’t take long before her face and arms were bruised, her clothes torn, and her body battered.
“You bitch! Get her! Strip her!” Aaron shouted..
He grabbed her hair and slammed her head against the window frame.
“Do it! Strip her!”
The noise coming from the office was deafening, but no one came to check. Jennifer realized no help was coming and that she had to save herself.
She kicked Aaron hard between the legs, yanked the window open, and without a second thought, jumped right outside from the second
floor.
