Breaking Free from the Ex-Husband novel Chapter 3

Iris had stopped caring about Heriberto’s heartlessness. She nonchalantly raised her eyebrows. Sorry, I forgot.

She took the stuff out of the car and made a phone call.

After hanging up, she turned to Mara and asked, The clothes and shoes I’m wearing were bought with Heriberto’s money. Should I take them off?

Mara gave a phony smile. If you want.

She wanted to see how tough Iris really was.

Iris closed her eyes and let Mara search her all over.

Iris swallowed her pride and went downstairs. She grabbed her few things and left.

She had always been physically fragile, and that incident messed up her health. Even the old doctor said it would be hard for her to get pregnant in the future.

Now, miraculously, she had twins. She couldn’t let anything happen to them.

After about 15 minutes, Nathaniel’s car sped over and stopped in front of her.

What happened?

He jumped out. When he saw Iris sitting on a big rock by the roadside lawn, palefaced, in her pajamas and slippers, with a big cardboard box beside her, his brow knitted into a deep frown.

Iris raised an eyebrow. I got kicked out.

Nathaniel was stunned into silence.
