Chapter 22
Heriberto shut his eyes, wiped the ice water off his face, and turned to look at the woman.
It was Danica Spencer, Iris’s best friend.
“Oh my!” Melanie screamed again. “Someone! Get this lunatic…”
She didn’t even finish the sentence before screaming in pain.
Danica grabbed the glass of water in front of Heriberto and aimed for Melanie’s face.
Melanie quickly closed her eyes and tilted her head.
But the water never came. Heriberto caught Danica’s hand before she could splash it out.

Heriberto stood up, and his hand gripped Danica’s wrist like a vice. His face was cold as stone, and his voice sharp. “Danica, before you go picking fights for someone, maybe get the facts straight first.”
The restaurant was packed, and the guests had been sneaking glances at Heriberto and Melanie.
Now, with the fuss, everyone turned to watch. Many were recording with their phones.
Some started sharing the clips with their friends.
Some even went straight to social media.
“What facts?”
Danica had just gotten back to the country today. She hadn’t even told Iris she was back. She only came here to catch up with a friend. She never thought she’d bump into the bitch and the bastard.
“You mean figuring out whether Melanie is your favorite side chick?”
Her voice was loud on purpose. She wanted everyone to hear.
“Heri, is she your friend?” Without feeling the water on her face, Melanie opened her eyes and asked cautiously.
Danica’s glare snapped to her. “Melanie, right? What, being a side chick so long got you addicted?”
“Heri…”
Getting humiliated in public, Melanie looked like she was about to cry. Her eyes welled up as she turned to Heriberto for help.
“Mr. Hale, Ms. Montelle, is there anything I can help with?”

Chapter 22
The restaurant manager rushed over with two waiters.
Danica was a guest, not someone who just stormed in to cause a scene. The manager couldn’t just throw her out.

Heriberto glanced at the manager and swept his eyes across the room, at every guest. He let go of Danica’s wrist and flicked the water off his suit jacket with a composed, dignified manner.
“Tonight’s meal is on me,” he said coolly, “But delete any video you’ve got. If you’ve posted them, take them down. Or you have to deal with the consequences.”
His voice wasn’t loud, but there was pressure in it. No one dared argue.
Phones were tucked away immediately.
Danica sneered. “Wow, Heriberto. Playing the coward now? Can’t you even own what you’ve done?”
Heriberto said to the manager, “Please show Ms. Spencer out.”
The manager glanced at Danica.
He wasn’t stupid. Offending Danica was worse than offending Heriberto. He politely asked her to leave with a smile.
Danica sneered. “No need to show me the door. Sitting near clowns like you and Melanie? I’ve lost my appetite.”
She spun around, grabbed her bag, and stormed off with her friends.
