Heriberto’s brows knitted tightly. “All the photos of Iris!”

Agnese looked at the photos on the wall. “Yes, sir.”

Heriberto went to the master bedroom.

Hardly had he walked in when his phone buzzed in his trouser pocket.

It was Melanie. He answered at once.

“Heri, my…my belly aches. Will you come and see me?”

She sounded feeble.

Frowning, Heriberto said, “I’ll send someone to take you to the hospital.”

“No!”

Melanie wept, extremely sad. “Heri, you know how much I hate hospitals.”

“OK. I see. I’m on my way.” Heriberto hung up and went downstairs.

After freshening up, Iris went to bed and grabbed her phone habitually.

Then, a post Melanie had released over ten minutes before popped up.

It was another back view of Heriberto.

Unlike her profile photo, this one was a close shot of Heriberto’s figure from the back with clear details.

He wore a shirt and suit pants. The rolled–up sleeves revealed his fair and robust forearms. The background was the kitchen.

With his head bowed slightly, he was busy cooking.

So, the food was for Melanie.

The proud second son of the Hale family, who had never cooked before, was cooking for Melanie.

Staring at her phone, Iris suddenly felt a fit of sadness surging inside her.
