Chapter 159
By the time Jasper got home, everyone had already finished lunch.
His father took one look at him and frowned deeply. “What time do you think this is? Valeria’s pregnant -you’re about to be a father and your to wor acting like an irresponsible kid!”
His tone was full of disapproval.
Jasper stood in the entryway, head down as he changed his shoes, staying silent.
His clothes were wrinkled, and his jacket still reeked of alcohol from the bar.
Even with his father laying into him, he didn’t say a word.
Megan came out to play peacekeeper. “Honey, don’t be so hard on him. It’s the holidays–it’s normal for Jasper to blow off some steam with friends
Then she looked at Jasper with motherly concern. “Sweetheart, I saved you a plate. I’ll have the housekeeper warm it up.”
Donald snorted. “Keep babying him and you’ll regret it later.”
With that, he stalked off to his study.
Jasper muttered flatly, “Mom, I’m gonna change clothes first.”
In their bedroom, Valeria was seething.
Jasper had been out all night–absolutely unacceptable.
She sat at her vanity, gripping her hairbrush so tightly her knuckles were white.
Her reflection showed red–rimmed eyes–she’d clearly been crying.
She’d been up all night, thinking about how if this was how he treated her before they were even married, what would their future look like?
She needed to figure something out.
When she heard the door open, Valeria spun around, her voice tight with suppressed anger. “Oh, so you do remember you have a home? Where the hell were you? Why didn’t you answer your phone?”
The thought of being pregnant while Jasper was out partying made her blood boil.
Jasper had changed so much lately.
Valeria was starting to panic, but she couldn’t control him.
Jasper stood in the doorway looking like absolute shit–wrinkled clothes, tie hanging loose, and what looked suspiciously like lipstick on his collar.
He rubbed his temples dismissively. “Got wasted with friends last night. Crashed at their place.”
“Friends? Which friends?” Valeria laughed bitterly, grabbing her phone and hurling it onto the bed.
“Your buddy posted on Instagram at 2 AM–photos of you all over some woman at the bar!”
She pointed shakily at her small but visible bump. “I’m not even three months pregnant and you’re already out there…”
She couldn’t even finish the sentence.
Why had Jasper’s feelings changed so quickly?

He’d been so good to her before, even dumped Anastasia for NAT
They’d had such a deep relationship, and she’d managed to destroy it.
Valeria had thought she’d won.
But she’d underestimated Jasper’s true nature–men always craved novelty.
“Enough!” Jasper’s sudden outburst made Valeria flinch.
Realizing he’d lost his temper, he irritably yanked off histie. “It was just meaningless fun. Why are you making such a big deal out of nothing?
Anastasia never nagged like this.
So damn annoying.
“You think I’m making a big deal? You slept with that woman, didn’t you?” Valeria stared coldly at the marks on his neck.
Jasper’s eyes flickered before he impatiently shrugged off his jacket. “Think whatever the hell you want.”
He turned toward the bathroom, but Valeria shot up and grabbed his sleeve.
“Jasper! Do you think just because I’m pregnant I can’t do anything about this? Don’t you have any conscience? How could you treat me like this?”
“Let go.” He gave her a cold look, his voice carrying a warning.
Valeria bit her lip hard, tears threatening to spill. “I’ve done so much for you, and now that I’m pregnant, this is how you treat me?”
Jasper scoffed, his expression mocking. “Valeria, don’t act like some martyr. Who was it that crawled into my bed? Who seduced me knowing I was with Anastasia? Who rubbed it in Anastasia’s face? And now you’re playing the victim?”
Valeria’s face went white as a sheet, her hands trembling.
“What, nothing to say now?” He looked down at her condescendingly. “Did I say something wrong?”
Valeria’s chest heaved as her nails dug into her palms.
Leave? How could she leave? She’d schemed too hard to get where she was–no way was she giving up now!
Valeria immediately softened her approach. “Jasper, how can you say that? I’m worried about you because I love you.”
Jasper roughly shook off her hand.
Valeria lost her balance and fell to the floor, hitting the chair.
She suddenly clutched her stomach.
“Ahh-” Valeria cried out in pain, her face going deathly pale as cold sweat beaded on her forehead.
“Jasper, my stomach… it hurts so bad…”
Jasper froze, panic setting in. “What’s wrong?”
He’d barely pushed her away–how could it be this serious?
Valeria curled up on the carpet, gripping her dress so hard her knuckles went white.
She looked up at him with trembling features, tears and sweat streaming down her face. “Jasper… it really hurts… the baby… our baby…
A thin line of bright red blood slowly spread across her light–colored dress.
Jasper’s pupils contracted in shock–now he was really panicking.
