Sonia frowned at the news. “I’ll go check on the situation. You keep watch out here?
“Okay, but are you going in alone?” Rainee asked.
“She’s unconscicus, isn’t she? I’ll assess the situation while you stand guard. When the others arrive, let them in. Got it?” Sonia instruered.
“Get it.” Rainee kept her head down, her expression unreadable.
Sonia headed into the building alone.
Jenny had just dropped Sonia off and left to find a doctor–they knew someone who could help on the down low. If things had really gone south, at least they’d have medical backup.
Sonia never intended for this to turn deadly.
After watching her go inside, Rainee’s expression remained eerily calm.
All this chaos had dragged on until dusk was settling in. But Sonia had been counting on this timing–daylight would’ve made everything too risky, and Anastasia might’ve had a chance to escape.
Now that bitch was trapped like a rat.
The thought of Anastasia clinging to Cassian’s arm made Sonia’s blood boil.
Ha! Let’s see if Cassian still wants her once she’s been completely destroyed.
Sonia pushed those thoughts aside and stepped into the abandoned warehouse.
It was pitch black inside–she could barely see her own hand in front of her face.
Her footsteps echoed on the damp concrete as the stench of decay and dust filled her nostrils. She covered her nose with her hand, scanning the darkness warily.
What the hell was this?
That idiot Rainee was useless. If you’re gonna drag someone to a place like this, at least bring a damn flashlight. It was so dark she couldn’t see shit.
Sonia hesitated, feeling suddenly nervous in the oppressive darkness.
She was about to call for Rainee to bring a flashlight when–SLAM!
The door banged shut behind her.
Panic shot through Sonia instantly. What the hell just happened?
Did the wind blow it closed? But there was no wind today…
Something felt very, very wrong. This whole situation was way too sketchy.
She rushed to the door and tried to pull it open, only to discover it had been locked from the outside.
Shit! She started pounding on the door frantically. “Rainee! Are you out there? Open the door! Rainee! Open this damn door right now!”
But no matter how much she screamed, there was nothing but dead silence from the other side.
Sonia’s mind was racing. Something had definitely gone wrong.
How was this possible?

She kept banging on the door, refusing to give up.
Wait–Anastasia! Was she supposed to be in here?
“Anastasia?” she called out softly, her voice echoing in the empty space. No response.
