Chapter 100
Anna’s POV:
I stepped onto Blake’s private jet, finally grasping that his earlier mention of a “honeymoon” wasn’t a joke.
I recalled how he’d asked where I wanted to go, and I’d casually mentioned “an island with perfect weather year–round.”
I hadn’t taken it seriously, especially after our cold war. The last thing I expected was for him to actually plan it.
As I wandered around the luxurious cabin, Blake followed closely behind me.
“So, what do you think of my arrangements?” he asked, sounding like he was fishing for compliments.
“It’s nice,” I replied sincerely, avoiding his gaze.
He pointed to a suitcase in the corner, looking proud. “There’s a little surprise for you over there.”
“What kind of surprise?” I asked absently.
Blake raised an eyebrow, looking mysteriously pleased with himself. “Swimsuits. Various colors, various styles.”
I forced a laugh. “Haha. Did you pack different types of swim trunks for yourself too?”
“What color do you prefer?” he asked. “Or perhaps you’d rather I didn’t wear any?”
‘I’m not in the mood for the kind of dirty talk we’d usually save for the bedroom,‘ I thought to myself.
Without responding, I moved quickly through the plane, checking each cabin to confirm what I half–suspected–that Claire might be hiding somewhere.
“Is Claire already at our destination?” I asked, unable to mask my disbelief.
Blake spread his hands, looking disdainful. “It’s just the two of us. Otherwise, how could we call it a honeymoon?”
He pulled me into his arms, kissing my head, face, and the tip of my nose.
“Still mad at me?” he murmured. “Hmm?”
I stared into his eyes. “Are you trying to sweet–talk me?”
“Isn’t it obvious?” He planted another kiss on my lips.
I should have been thrilled, but all I felt was torment.
My mind drifted back to our wedding trip four years ago. Back then, he hadn’t been willing to put in this kind of effort for me, probably because I wasn’t as important as Claire.
Now, could his carefully planned surprise really make up for that disappointment? All my frustration, resentment, and anger congealed into an inexplicable bitterness stuck in my throat.
“How did you happen to show up and rescue me today?” I asked, lowering my eyes to avoid his kisses.
Blake’s smile faded. He looked down, and we fell into an uncomfortable silence. He clearly didn’t want to answer.

Chapter 100
“It’s fine if you don’t want to fell me.” I said. “But thank you anyway.
I pulled away from his embrace and found a seat by the window.
Blake’s silhouette appeared behind me, reflected in the glass. I didn’t turn around, just closed my eyes in exhaustion.
“Not only did I show up at the right moment, Blake said, ‘but I also know a lot. Like how you’re planning to sell your BlueWave Technologies stocks. And that you got a bouquet of lilacs from someone else tonight….
His voice was steady, but there was a chilling edge that made my skin crawl. I couldn’t help but shiver. Blake lifted my chin, forcing me to open my eyes and stand tall.
