Chapter 562
Once the call went through, Jonathan didn’t ask Miriam what was wrong with Teresa or why she was upset.
Instead, he simply mentioned there were many concerts happening in Nareigh lately, and that he had some invitation letters from the organizers he could give to Miriam.
He added, “You could take Teresa with you.”
“Oh.” Miriam knew instantly that Jonathan couldn’t possibly be that kind for no reason.
Jonathan added, “Why don’t you girls go to a fun concert to lift your spirits?”
Miriam immediately replied, “There’s a OneRepublic concert tonight. Their shows always have such a great vibe
After a few seconds of silence, Jonathan said, “I’ll have my assistant get you front–row VIP seats. Just don’t tell Teresa they’re from me.”

Teresa was feeling down at the office. She recalled the moment when she thought Michael had gone missing. If Jennifer hadn’t suddenly intervened to stop her, she would have called Jonathan right then.
She knew Jonathan would definitely ask why she was so anxious about a kid who had nothing to do with her, and maybe she would blur out that Michael
was their son.
She had been holding this in for so long. She wanted to say it, but now she was just too scared. She felt Jennifer was right. If she revealed the truth, Michael would be seen as an illegitimate child.
The only solution would be for her to remarry Jonathan. But with Irene in the way, that was just impossible. Even if Teresa forced the remarriage, she still wouldn’t be happy.
Marriage was a science that she couldn’t grasp, let alone face right now.
Just as Teresa was sinking into her gloomy thoughts, Miriam called her and said, “Teresa, I got three front–row VIP tickets to the OneRepublic concert. Let’s all go with Edward.”
“Where is it?” Teresa asked.
Miriam answered, “It’s over at the Olyvis Sports Center on Prosperity Avenue, starting at 7:30 tonight.”
“That’s too far. You guys go, and I’ll just skip it,” Teresa said, using it as a convenient excuse. The truth was, she simply wasn’t in the mood.
“Come on,” Miriam insisted. “It would be such a waste. Let’s go together, okay?”
Teresa thought for a moment and said, “Why don’t you two take Michael instead? He knows all of OneRepublic’s songs. He’d love to go.”
Miriam said, “How about all four of us go together?”
“I think I’ll pass. I’ve been feeling a little worn out these days,” said Teresa.
Miriam said, “Are you still upset about Mike almost getting lost? I’m so sorry, Teresa. That was my fault. I really don’t want you to be upset about it. I promise I’ll keep a closer eye on him. He won’t wander off again.”
Teresa didn’t want Miriam to blame herself. After all, Miriam had helped her through so much. Thus, Teresa said, “It’s not about that. I just haven’t been sleeping well.”
“Oh, come on,” Miriamy said. After all these years as best friends, she could instantly tell Teresa was making excuses. She knew Teresa was just in a bad
mood.
