Bonded to My Ex's Alpha Brother (by CalebWhite) novel Chapter 237

Chapter 237

Erin’s POV

The words I’d rehearsed all morning died in my throat as I froze in the doorway.

There was Mya Windsor, her slender arms wrapped around Derek in an embrace that looked far too intimate. The door closed behind me with a soft click that seemed to echo in my suddenly hollow chest.

Tears welled in my eyes as I struggled to remain standing. My legs felt weak, threatening to give out beneath me. Through the blur of unshed tears, my gaze locked with Derek’s across the room. His expression was unnervingly calm, his eyes steady and unreadable as he looked at me. The contrast between his composure and my inner turmoil made my heart crack a little more.

What’s going on?I whispered, my voice barely audible even to my own ears.

Mya turned fully toward me, her perfect features twisting with obvious distaste as she took in my presence. Her posture shifted from warm familiarity to cold rigidity in an instant.

Derek, she said, her voice dripping with disdain, Why is this Omega girl barging into your office without knocking?

Her contemptuous tone struck me like a physical blow. I realized with sudden clarity that I had never spoken to Derek that waywith such entitlement, such disregard. The difference in our approaches to him was stark and unsettling.

She’s my personal secretary,Derek replied, his voice measured and calm as he moved unhurriedly to sit behind his desk.

Mya’s hands clenched into tight fists at her sides. What?she exclaimed loudly, her voice rising to fill the room.

I flinched at the sound, instinctively turning toward the door. I quickly wiped away the tears threatening to spill down my cheeks. Calm down, Erin. You need to understand what’s happening first.

How could you hire her as your secretary?Mya continued, her voice sharp with indignation. She’s just a young student! How could she possibly be qualified to be your assistant and manage your affairs?

Derek didn’t respond to Mya’s outburst. Instead, he reached for his phone and dialed. Tom, come to the office and pick up Mya.

A small flicker of relief sparked in my chest. Was he sending her away?

That hope was quickly extinguished with Derek’s next words: She’s moving into Darkwood Estate. Tell the maids to clean the large room downstairs thoroughly. There can’t be any problems.

I watched as Mya’s cheeks flushed, her eyes dropping to the floor in what looked like pleased embarrassment.

She’s going to live at Darkwood Estate? Why? My heart began to race painfully in my chest, each beat a hammer blow against my ribs. My birthday, my plans to confess my feelings to Derekeverything was crumbling around me.

Derek hung up the phone and began typing on his laptop, as if nothing significant had happened. The office fell into uncomfortable silence.

I felt the shift in himthis wasn’t the man who had held me, who had shown me tenderness. This was Pack Alpha Derek Stone, the cold, powerful leader who regarded the world with indifference. And he wasn’t offering me any explanation.

Mya cleared her throat softly, attempting to break the silence. Derek shot her a sharp look that made her words die in her throat.

I was just wondering,Mya tried again, with a smile that transformed her face into something even more beautiful, if I could stay here in your office with you until Tom arrives..

Derek gestured to the chair across from his desk, his movement minimal but clear in its permission.

Chapter 237

I stood watching them, feeling increasingly out of place. I took the opportunity to study Mya more carefully. She was stunningly beautifultall and slender with perfect features, expensive clothes, and an air of refinement that I knew I could never match. The comparison made me feel small and inadequate. I needed to leave before I embarrassed myself further.

Turning toward the door, I took a step to leave when Derek’s voice stopped me.

Where are you going?he asked, his tone neutral.

I turned back, hope flaring briefly that he might explain, might clear up this misunderstanding. But his next words crushed that hope.

Organize a pack meeting for tomorrow,he instructed, his voice all business.

I felt my heart sink to the floor. I bit my lower lip to keep it from trembling. Yyes, Alpha, 1 responded, trying to convey my hurt through my eyes, but Derek’s expression remained impassive.

Notify all management about the meeting,Derek added. Don’t forget the Silverpine Pack.

At the mention of Silverpine, Mya’s head snapped up, her expression suddenly shifting from superiority to fear. Derek, why are you notifying the Silverpine Pack?she asked, her voice trembling slightly.

I frowned in confusion. Wasn’t Mya from the Silverpine Pack? Why would she react with such alarm?

I would prefer if you only informed my father,Mya continued, her voice taking on a pleading quality. If you inform the entire pack, then the Alpha himself will come here for the pack meeting.

Derek’s eyebrow raised slightly. Do you have a problem with that?

Mya’s eyes widened, and she whispered, AAlexanderThe name seemed to catch in her throat.

At the mention of this name, Derek’s expression darkened, his eyes taking on a dangerous gleam. Mya immediately fell silent, seemingly afraid

to continue.

You’re on my territory now,Derek said, his voice low and controlled as he addressed Mya. He can’t do anything to you here.
