has nothing to worry about. As for Sophie… I’ll keep an eye on her, make sure she never discovers the

truth.”

His colleague looked disappointed and uncomfortable. “You’ve solved countless cases over eight years, earned so many commendations. Why throw it all away for Erin? She doesn’t even love you! Her presence at the Blakes‘ house that day was no coincidence! If anyone finds out about this, you’ll lose more than your job. Your reputation will be destroyed, and you might even go to prison. Nathan smiled faintly, unconcerned. “Lost my mind? Maybe. Love isn’t rational. The case is closed now. Let’s not bring it up again.”

I sat beside the bed and took his phone.

The password was Erin’s birthday. After entering it, I accessed a hidden system.

The home screen was empty except for a gallery filled with photos.

He had photographed the case files from the Blake family murders five years ago.

One thousand images in total and Erin’s name was written on every page.

From her motive to the evidence against her. Even video footage of her appearing at the entrance of the Blake mansion. Everything was crystal clear.

Yet the final page classified it as an unsolved case.

Nathan had feared his colleagues would become suspicious, so he’d brought the files home. He kept these records on his phone, visible only to him.
