Chapter 147: Chapter 147 Insanely Despicable

Kelly’s POV

“Mommy!” Snow ran to me as soon as she saw me. Tears were streaming down her face as she hugged me.

I glanced at Phoebe as I carried Snow in my arms.

“What’s wrong?”

“She saw Luke in the news. I didn’t know that she was watching television. I was...cooking her pancakes when I heard her crying.”

I sighed and hugged my daughter. “Shh! Hush now, sweetie.”

“Mommy, what h-happened to uncle L-Luke?”

I bit my bottom lip and shook my head. “U-Uncle Luke is...gone, sweetheart.”

She cried harder. “Why?”

I caressed her cheeks as I sat on the couch and put her on my lap. “Shhh! Uncle Luke became an angel, sweetie.”

She paused and looked at me. “J-Just like grandma and grandpa?”

I nodded and smiled at her. “Yes, pumpkin.”

“I won’t see him again just like grandma and grandpa?”

I touched her chest where her heart is. “They will stay here. They will guide you until you grow up like a fine lady.”

Her lips trembled. “C-Can they promise?”

I hugged her and looked at Phoebe with teary eyes. She was looking at me with a sad face.

“You should eat now,” Phoebe told me and bent her body forward to talk to Snow. “Luv, do you wanna visit my house again?”

Phoebe’s idea is good. The best way to distract Snow and keep her from everything that’s happening is to bring her out of the chaotic frame.

I looked at Snow’s face. “Sweetheart, do you wanna stay with Aunt Phoebe for a few days?”

She blinked and stared at me. “In the house with a big pool, mommy?”

“Yes.”

Finally, she smiled. “Does that mean we will visit daddy Pierce again?”

She wants to be with her dad. She doesn’t know but her heart can feel it. I feel something suffocating me inside.

I tucked her hair behind her ears. “Do you wanna stay with daddy Pierce?”

“Yes!”

I nodded. “You can go with Aunt Phoebe for now. Mommy just needs to do something.”

Her innocent doe eyes stared at me. “You’ll sleep at daddy Pierce’s house too, mommy?”

“No, sweetheart. But I will visit you and pick you up after a few days. Is that a deal?”

She caressed her chin, thinking about it for a while before she nodded and smiled happily. “It’s a deal, mommy!”

“Let’s go to the bedroom and change your clothes? We’re going today.”

Snow excitedly held onto Phoebe’s hand. That’s when Emily entered and went straight to the dining table. She sat there and looked at me.

“Finally, I can eat now. How ‘bout you?”

I sat in front of her but as soon as the scent of her coffee filled my nose, my stomach grumbled and got so upset that it made me nauseous.

I covered my mouth and ran to the sink but nothing came out of my mouth. I washed my mouth when I stilled after realizing something.

“Kelly, are you...”

My heart raced as I stared at the running water. Emily went beside me and turned the faucet off. I slowly lifted my face and looked at her.

Her eyes slowly glanced at my stomach and then to my face again before she gasped and covered her mouth.

I swallowed hard. I don’t know what to feel. I might be pregnant. I might be carrying Pierce’s child again and I don’t know if this is a good thing. Everything is still in chaos. I still have not enough evidence to put mom’s killer behind bars.

“Kelly, you have to get tested.”

I looked at her again and bit my bottom lip. “What should I do, Emily?”

“You have to talk to Pierce and tell him about the baby...also about Snow.”
