Bedmates Soulmates novel Chapter 471

Austyn left the hospital

He was still sick

He couldn’t have gone to the office, could he

Was he that much of a workaholic

Kira frowned

Have you called him?Elsie asked

Kira slapped a palm to her forehead. I forgot.”

She had been on her feet for almost forty hours

She was running on fumes

So stupid. She reached for her phone. I could’ve just called.‘

She listened to the monotonous ringtone till the call was cut off

She tried again

Same result

Why isn’t he picking up?”

So Widt She’s Maried

Kira pulled a face

Was the man giving her the silent treatment again

Kira called Kai

The assistant was back at the company

Austyn wasn’t there and Kai had no idea where he could have gone..

Austyn stared at the caller ID onscreen and let the call go to voicemail

He wasn’t in the mood to answer anyone’s calls right now, including Kira’s

Or, maybe especially Kira’s

His mind was whirling

The woman lying in a room less than ten feet away was supposed to be dead

Dead and buried

But she was alive

She had a pulse

Her skin

was warm

She was breathing

Deborah was alive

The bombshell had struck without warning, and Austyn was still reeling

He couldn’t get his mind or nerves to calm down

The ashtray in the living room was overflowing with cigarette butts

Austyn chainsmoked

The nicotine, instead of clearing his head like it used to do, only muddled it further

It was like someone had stuffed a ball of cotton into his brain, messing up all logical thought

The smoke was getting into his lungs and making it difficult to breathe

Austyn kept on smoking. The bedroom door opened

He buried Her Adhes

He Burled Her Ashes

Luca and Jesse came out together

The doctor snatched the cigarette from Austyn’s hand. I can put up with you checking out of the hospital, but must you destroy your own health like this?”

He ground out the cigarette in the ashtray

Austyn’s voice was raspy. Is she awake?‘

Yes.‘

Austyn moved towards the bedroom, his steps heavy

Luca stopped him. I checked. That woman inside the room is Deborah Connelly. There’s not question about it. She recognised me and Jesse when she woke up.”

Austyn just nodded

She’s fine, by the way. The car didn’t hit her. She just scraped her knees when she fell.”

Austyn said nothing

He stopped outside the door, took a deep breath and pushed it open

The room was dark

The curtains were closed
