He was the one who arranged for the plastic surgeries, after all. 

He had a front–row seat to the amazing yet painful transformation of Miss Reyes from a beautiful woman into the girl of Young Master’s dreams. 

Gwen’s voice became shrill. ‘My face still hurts like hell every time it rains! He knows this, but does he care? I have to go back to the clinic every quarter for maintenance, or my face is going to fall apart like a melted ice cream cone. I gave up my face for him.” 

This was how he was paying her back? 

‘I gave up my name for him.” 

He called her Kira in bed. 

It was Kira he was kissing, hugging, caressing, fucking. 

He never called her Gwen. 

Now that the real Kira was found, he wanted to end their arrangement. 

He was starting to panic, wasn’t he? 

Gwen curled her lip. 

He was afraid the real Kira would find out about the nasty things he did with her, the 

substitute lover. 

What would Kira think once she knew Gideon fucked someone with her face almost every night for the past two years? 

He couldn’t afford for Kira to see his true colours, so he had to get rid of the evidence. 

Gwen gripped the phone. 

‘Miss Reyes…‘ Martin didn’t know what else he could say. 

He was just carrying out Young Master’s orders. 

Gwen chuckled mirthlessly. ‘Don’t worry. I’ll do what he says. Send me the flight details once you have them.” 

She’s Gattued Her Usefulness. 

She hung up. 

Martin stared at the phone screen, shook his head and returned to the ward. 

‘So?‘ Gideon asked. 

‘Miss Reyes said she would leave.‘ 

‘Good.‘ Gideon nodded. 

He had always liked how sensible Gwen was. 

She didn’t need to be told twice what to do. 

Martin, who’d spent more time with Gwen than Gideon did, couldn’t help but speak up for 

her. ‘Young Master, even I can see that Miss Reyes has feelings for you. She has given up a lot to be with you. Maybe you could- 

‘Did I ask for your opinion?‘ Gideon cut him off coldly. 

So Wolu? She’s Marned?. 

So What If She’s Married? 

Martin knew he’d spoken out of turn, but he just had to get it off his chest. ‘I just think that since Miss Hewitt is married now, maybe you should move on and consider 

‘Consider giving up Kira and staying with Gwen?‘ Gideon shook his head. ‘You’ve been with me for four years, but you don’t seem to know me that well.‘ 

There was a hard glint in his eyes. ‘Do you think I care if Kira’s married? Or if she has a child? I don’t give a fuck about any of that.‘ 

His father’s betrayal of his mother taught Gideon that nothing was permanent, including 

marriage vows. 

Kira was married, for now, but she could also be divorced. 

Gideon had already thought of ten different ways to make that happen. 

Martin was taken aback by the implication of Gideon’s words. ‘But Miss Hewitt’s husband is… Mr McCarthy.” 

Austyn McCarthy’s position in Stamford was like that of Gideon in Ourhlana, only stronger. 

If Martin had to be objective, he would have to say that Mr McCarthy, who built his own business empire from the ground up in less than seven years, had more than a slight edge over Young Master. 

Gideon sneered. ‘So?” 

All’s fair in love and war. 

Austyn was a friend and a potential business partner, but Gideon wouldn’t give up on Kira just 

because of that. 

He wasn’t the powerless and broke young man four years ago. 

After avenging his mother’s death, Gideon only had one mission left in life. 

He was prepared to do whatever it took to win Kira back, by fair means or foul.

Kira jogged back to Austyn’s ward, panting. 

She had been gone for so long. 

The man was probably fit to be tied. 

Kira stopped outside his room, smoothed out her hair and her t–shirt and caught her breath. 

She rehearsed what she would say before pushing the door open. 

So Wii! She’s Married? 

‘Honey, I’m sorry. I was- 

She stared at the empty bed. 

Kira scanned the room, came back out, checked the room number, then went in again. 

She had the right room. 

There was the apple core in the dustbin, left by Captain O’Neill. 

But where was the patient who was supposed to be in bed? 

The IV bottle was empty. 

The needle, which was supposed to be buried in the back of Austyn’s hand, was hanging loosely from the IV stand. 

A small puddle of clear liquid had formed on the floor. 

The door to the ensuite bathroom was ajar. 

No one was inside. 

Kira scratched her head. 

She left the room, saw a nurse coming down the hallway and asked her, ‘Miss, do you know what happened to the patient in this room?” 

Did they transfer Austyn to another ward? 

The nurse sighed. ‘He checked himself out almost two hours ago, despite our strong 

objections. He left with a man with a crew cut. I called Doctor Chase–it was his patient, but he must be sleeping.” 

‘I see. Thank you.” 

Kira sighed. 

The man with a crew cut was probably Captain O’Neill. 

So Austyn had checked out. 

He must be pretty mad to discharge himself while he was still running a fever.. 

Kira jogged to the adjacent building and checked on her father. 

Doctor Morrison told her everything was fine and nothing had changed. 

She thanked the doctor and left the hospital. 

Kira massaged her calf muscles as she waited for a taxi. 

She had done more running in one day than the entire past semester. 

So What She’s Marned? 

She almost dozed off on the drive back to the villa. 

The taxi driver had to shake her awake. ‘Miss, we re here.‘ 

“Thank you.‘ 

Kira rubbed her bleary eyes, paid the driver and got out. 

She heard a familiar croaking in the front garden when she walked past it. 

‘Maybe I should get him a couple of frogs,‘ she thought. ‘That’s sure to break the ice, right?‘ 

Then she dismissed the idea. 

She wanted Austyn to be less mad at her, not more. 

‘Elsie, where’s Austyn?” she asked as soon as she walked through the front door. 

The housekeeper fetched her a glass of water. ‘Sit down. Catch your breath. You’re all red in 

the face.‘ 

Kira downed the water in one gulp. Thank you.‘ 

“Young Master isn’t home yet.” 

“What?‘ Kira glanced towards the stairs.
