Her voice rumbled again.
"Break his bones."
The world listened. Her voice condensed into thousands of thin sonic lances, tearing towards Atticus from every single angle.
But Atticus’s Will only flared like a bonfire doused in fuel. It engulfed the lances, swallowing them whole and turning them into nothingness.
His cold golden eyes never stopped scanning the area, his mind spinning. He waited, for a clue, a mistake.
Even for a god, it was hard not to make a single one.
"Crush him."
Her words had barely dropped when bubbles formed all over Atticus, then imploded into bursts of spheres that roared towards him, threatening to crush him.
But another flare of his Will was all it took to erase the attack completely.
Atticus’s eyes kept roaming, his figure calm.
Not a single speck of dust marred his form, despite having blocked so many world ending attacks.
"Your actions are futile, vile child."
’I’ve turned into a vile child now?’
Atticus nearly chuckled at the pathetic attempt to get him riled up.
"Your negation power won’t work here. You won’t be able to touch my mana."
Atticus frowned at her words.
’ I guess Quiet Flame was right. They were prepared.’
He had split his focus earlier. One part had been focused on finding a way to locate the woman god, the other had been studying the mana signature of this world.
Unfortunately, he had found out early that this was another world, the mana signature was different. And the woman god had prepared for his negation. She had taken full control over the mana in the surrounding hundreds of kilometers. Here, the mana signature was shifting rapidly.
The truth was, with Atticus’s increased intelligence, he could keep up. He could copy each new shift regardless. But the problem was, right after copying the current change, the signature would shift again, rendering his former negation energy obsolete.
’Not even Singularity...’
Singularity only worked if negation and mana truly clashed. But if the negation wasn’t absolute, then there was no true singularity.
"You should repent for your wrongs by giving up your life, vile child."
Atticus came out of his thoughts at her hate filled words. ’She knows we’re at a standstill.’
It was obvious. She was trying to bait him into acting. She knew none of her attacks could get through to him. Attacks made of just mana... they were useless against his Will.
’
One of us will have to make a move.’
And it was obvious who it would be.
Silence descended for a moment. The tension soared. Atticus stood still, eyes calm, waiting, for what he knew was coming.
Her voice rumbled through the hall once more.
"Burn everything ahead."
Atticus’s gaze snapped to the side. A raging storm of fire surged toward him, drowning the cavern in a crimson glow. The temperature spiked to unbearable levels.
Despite the sea of fire closing in, the calmness on Atticus’s face didn’t change.
Atticus felt her Will collapsing around him. And before he could wrap his entire body in his Will, her voice boomed
