"Can I take the gold bars for myself?" Bai Meiyue questioned as she tapped her foot on the floor.

Lei Qian looked at her and nodded. "You can. Since you like gold so much, you can have it." Anyway, this gold was of no use to him; even if he was the one who collected the gold, this gold was simply an added benefit for him. He never wanted to move it, as he knew that many lives were lost; only then was the politician able to move this much gold from the vault without anyone finding out.

Bai Meiyue simply blinked her eyes and furrowed her brows. She then turned to look at Lei Qian before saying to him, "Why did you burn those things? We could have used them as protective devices for our mansion."

When Lei Qian heard her response, he was amused and exasperated. He said to her, "These are plants. They might have mutated, but they are not sentient yet; you cannot train them like Ciyi."
