Apocalyptic Disasters: Carrying a bun and hoarding supplies novel Chapter 460

Chapter 460: Lei Qian’s Ambition

"Enough," Shen Zhen’s face turned red when she saw the man kowtowing in front of her. She said to him, "There is no need for you to do this. I am only doing my job; there is no need for you to kowtow like this in front of me." She looked genuinely uncomfortable with the actions of Yang Wei, which was why Lu Yu pulled the man up from the floor.

He said to him, "You heard, Doctor Shen. Stop doing this; you are making her uncomfortable."

"Ah, I am sorry...sorry," Yang Wei’s face turned as red as a cooked shrimp as he lowered his head and apologized. He didn’t think that his gratitude would make Shen Zhen feel uncomfortable. He rubbed his hands and said, "I didn’t mean to make you uncomfortable, Doctor Shen. I was just too excited, don’t worry—don’t take my actions to heart. I—I will bring my wife to your hospital tomorrow."

After he finished speaking, Yang Wei bowed once again and took his leave. freēwēbηovel.c૦m

When Shen Zhen saw him leave, she sighed in relief and patted her chest. She didn’t want to show her emotions on her face, but Yang Wei’s identity made her a bit awkward. When she thought about how many people might have suffered because of Yang Wei, Shen Zhen felt a bit awkward about accepting his gratitude.

But at the same time, she knew that Yang Wei was not wrong. His wife and child had indeed done nothing wrong, and they were innocent like the rest of the patients who came to see her. They deserved to be given a chance at survival.

"Don’t think too much, Doctor Shen," said Lu Yu as he glanced at the woman who was frowning a bit too hard. "You are not doing anything wrong. As a doctor, you cannot just turn a blind eye to someone who came to ask for your help."

"I know," Shen Zhen agreed calmly. Though she didn’t show it on her face, Lu Yu’s words must have soothed her worries because she was no longer frowning as hard as she was earlier.

Bai Meiyue heaved a sigh of relief when she saw that everything had gone back to normal. She then turned around and headed downstairs. Lei Qian chased after her. Seeing that she was about to get into the driver’s side of the car, he said to her, "Yueyue, did you forget? Your mother said that you can’t drive a car."

When Bai Meiyue heard his words, she turned to look at him. She said to him, "Do you even know where I want to go?"

"I don’t, but your husband’s car has an excellent GPS," replied Lei Qian as he suppressed the urge to roll his eyes. "Just tell me where you want to go and I will take you there." He was worried that if he was a beat slower, Bai Meiyue would turn around and leave him behind.

"Fine." Hearing his response, Bai Meiyue didn’t say anything. If someone wanted to act as her slave, then she would leave him to it.

"Fine," she gave up without a fight, which relieved Lei Qian. At least it meant that she had started to trust him. Lei Qian was quite happy with this change. He got to the driver’s side and then waited for Bai Meiyue to climb up in the car, but it wasn’t that he didn’t want to help her.

It was because the woman would definitely slap him if he tried to help her.

Once Bai Meiyue got inside the car, she said to him, "Go to the Western Hub."

It was the place which was far from the complex where they lived and naturally out of the safe zone.
