Though Bai Meiyue rushed out of the house on the pretext that she wanted to buy some personal goods, the truth was that she actually went to the hospital. With her face carefully covered, she headed to the gynaecology section for a general checkup.
Even though she knew that Bai Cai was a healthy baby, as a soon-to-be mother, she couldn’t help but worry about her child. After all, no one could be certain that just because nothing went wrong with her son in her past life, everything would be peachy in this life as well.
She needed to be cautious and careful even more than she was in the past life.
After queuing up for an hour, it was finally Bai Meiyue’s turn. A nurse took her to get her blood test as well as the other tests done before bringing her to the doctor and handing her reports to the woman sitting on the other side of the table.
When the doctor read the name on the report, her brows jumped, and she looked up at Bai Meiyue before asking, "Are you sure that you want to keep this child?" She asked this question not because she was worried about an eighteen-year-old getting pregnant but because she had heard all about Bai Meiyue and the tragedy that she suffered from.
She also knew a lot of women who, out of guilt and pity, gave birth to their children after going through such incidents but later on they started resisting and hating the child when the child started looking like their assaulter.
Such children were later on dumped in the orphanage or they were abandoned by their mothers.
The doctor didn’t want such a thing to happen to Bai Meiyue and her child, which was why she gently tried to explain to Bai Meiyue, "Having a child is not a small matter; it will not change your life for just a few months. After giving birth, you need to raise this child and even if he or she grows up and becomes an adult, you will still have to care for them."
"Do you think you will be able to do that?"
Though she did not say any harsh words, Bai Meiyue was able to understand the crux of the doctor’s words. She glanced at the small name board on the table and noted down the name of the doctor in her heart.
Shen Zhen.
It seemed like this woman was not only an honest and good doctor but she was also a kindhearted and gentle woman.
"I know, Doctor Shen," Bai Meiyue replied calmly. "You don’t have to worry; no matter what, I will never resent this child. Since it is I who wants to have him."
