These past few days, the one thing that Bai Meiyue had been missing the most was her mother's homecooked meals. Though she had a lot of things stored in her space pocket to eat, Bai Meiyue still missed the warm meals cooked by her mother.
"Ah, look at me," Yan Wanning smacked her hand with the heel of her palm and exclaimed, "How foolish of me; I didn't even think carefully." she then turned to walk inside the house as she pulled Bai Meiyue and stopped pestering and fussing over her.
Yan Wanning prepared a light meal of bone broth soup, rice and some stir-fried chicken with some green vegetables. Bai Meiyue looked at the little spirit moving around and sprinkling little specks of green dust on the potted plants. From the looks of it, the vegetables that her mother had planted were growing really well.
After eating and drinking her fill, Bai Meiyue left the dining area and headed to her bedroom. After a quick bath, she changed her clothes and went to bed without bothering about anything else.
She didn't bother to waste her time thinking about Lei Qian. In her heart, nothing was more important than her health. Only when she was doing well would she be able to give birth to little Cai Cai without any trouble.
While Bai Meiyue was contentedly sleeping.
Jiang Li was having trouble finding a good place to stay. There were many free apartments on the lower floor but in her eyes, they were not as safe as the three penthouses on the top. After all, there was not even a single zombie in sight. If she was to stay on the top floor, she was sure that everything would be fine.
But Jiang Li also knew that Bai Meiyue would never let her follow her team. This was something that could be seen clearly from how Bai Meiyue treated her and the rest of the survivors at the hospital. If not for the fact that she couldn't cling onto Bai Meiyue then she wouldn't have snuck inside the truck while no one was paying attention to her.
Because of this, Jiang Li was afraid that if she was noticed by Bai Meiyue and her team, she would be chased away. Thus, she had no choice but to keep a low profile. However, when she thought about staying alone, Jiang Li couldn't help but feel a bit panicked.
She couldn't stay alone; this was something that Jiang Li was very clear about. After all, she knew that she had no decent skills and if she was left alone, then certainly things might not end well for her.
Not to mention, she was starving. She had only gotten a few sips of the milk powder that the rest of the survivors snatched from the doctors and the nurses and other than that, she didn't get to drink even a single sip more. Now her stomach was rumbling and she felt like she was about to faint.
"What should I do?" she muttered, looking at the entrance of the two corridors. After thinking about it, she gritted her teeth and entered the other corridor. She knew that if she was to go and look for Bai Meiyue, nothing good would come out of it.
That woman was quite stubborn and cold-hearted. Thus, she could only think of looking for another backer for the time being.
