Chapter 168: You Are Not Suitable for Dominic
Chapter 168: You Are Not Suitable for Dominic
(Aria’s POV)
I never imagined he had already inquired about this… I used to think he didn’t know about the traditional
werewolf mating customs. The realization that he had researched such intimate details made my heart
flutter with both nervousness and anticipation.
“But… but…” My face felt hot, and my heart pounded against my ribs like a caged bird. Yet I couldn’t find a
single reason to refuse his request.
Not to mention, I had already registered my mate bond with Dominic. Legally, we were a legitimate mated pair, and doing ‘that was perfectly reasonable according to werewolf law. My wolf hummed with agreement
beneath my skin.
“Aria, can you just take pity on me? Hmm?” The last syllable rose in a pleading tone, melting me completely.
I was captivated by his overly shimmering silver–gray eyes. In a trance, I nodded.
Things then began to spiral completely out of control. Despite my surrender, I felt a sense of relief mixed with
my racing heart. I acknowledged the inevitability and legal justification of our intimacy now that we were
officially mated, my wolf humming with contentment beneath my skin.
However, Dominic still held back, mindful of my pregnancy, and didn’t push things too far. His hands were
gentle, reverent, treating me like precious moonstone.
Even so, by the time we emerged from the bathroom, I was utterly weak. Unable to lift even a finger, my legs
trembling like autumn leaves.
All the intense emotions merged with a long–blurred memory. Making me feel as if I had returned to that
fervent, absurd night at the territorial gathering. Everything was so vivid, as if it had happened just yesterday.
The physical exhaustion was profound, yet a strange sense of familiarity washed over me. An overwhelming wave of passion connected my present to a hazy past, making me feel as if time had collapsed, my wolf finally at peace with our Alpha mate.
As I lay there, utterly spent, I could feel Dominic pressed tightly against me from behind. His knee against my bent leg, in a position of ultimate intimacy. The closeness was both comforting and overwhelming, a
testament to the depth of our physical connection.
“Aria, tell me I’m not dreaming, okay?” He held me close, his lazy, deep voice murmuring in my ear.
His powerful Alpha scent wrapped around me protectively. “You have no idea how long I’ve waited for this
day…”
His words were filled with profound longing and satisfaction. A deep emotional release that I could feel in the
tremor of his voice.
At this point, he had left me utterly exhausted. Though I registered his words, I couldn’t even bother to move my lips to respond.
Fortunately, Dominic was just expressing his feelings. He wasn’t truly expecting a conversation from me.
Chapter 168 You Are Not
“The moon goddess has been kind to me… The weight of his gratitude and the intimacy of the moment wer profound.
The rest of his words faded into a gentle murmur. In a hazy state, I felt a cool, gentle kiss on my forehead.
“My mate, goodnight, sweet dreams.” His tender farewell solidified the emotional bond and the profound significance of our shared night.
I slept soundly, all the way until the next morning. When I opened my eyes, Dominic was no longer beside me
I instinctively propped myself up to sit. The movement accidentally pulled a muscle in my lower back.
A sharp, throbbing ache shot through me. The wild events of the previous night gradually surfaced in my mind. My face immediately burned crimson, my pregnant wolf stirring restlessly within me.
Fortunately, Dominic wasn’t there. Otherwise, I would have been so embarrassed I’d want to crawl into a hole.
The physical discomfort served as a vivid reminder of the night’s passion. It triggered a wave of shyness and
embarrassment, yet tinged with a secret delight that he wasn’t there to witness it.
Once the discomfort in my back eased, I dressed and got out of bed. Only to find a note on the nightstand.
“I’ve
gone to Shadow Security. Breakfast is warming on the stove. If it gets cold, just reheat it yourself.”
The note was a thoughtful gesture. It offered me a much–needed moment to compose myself.
I couldn’t help but secretly exhale in relief. Dominic’s absence gave me time to adjust.
Although we were officially mated now, this had been our first time… Moreover, last night was in the bathroom, and Dominic had introduced so many new variations that even thinking about them now made my
face flush.
I used to only know Dominic as the commanding Alpha King of the Northern Territory. But I never expected him to be so… secretly passionate in this aspect, my wolf preening with satisfaction at our Alpha’s
attentiveness.
As I finished washing up and went downstairs to eat breakfast at the dining table, the heat on my face finally began to subside.
However, just as I was halfway through my meal, my phone suddenly yibrated. I instinctively glanced at the caller ID–it was a message from Dominic.
“My mate, are you up yet? Remember to eat breakfast.”
I couldn’t help but smile knowingly. Immediately picking up my phone and taking a picture of my food, then sending it to him with a caption-“I’m eating now.”
“My mate, you worked hard last night. Are you uncomfortable anywhere?”
When I saw the word ‘worked,‘ the venison soup I had just sipped almost sprayed out of my mouth. This Alpha! He really knows how to bring up awkward topics!
How could he ask about such things so casually? A surge of heat and mortification washed over me, my wolf whimpering with shy pleasure.
My face turned crimson with embarrassment. I didn’t bother to reply to him, flipping my phone focusing intently on continuing my meal.

But just then, the doorbell suddenly rang. I looked up, somewhat puzzled.
I knew it definitely wouldn’t be Dominic, because the door had a fingerprint fock. So he wouldn’t ring the bell, I just wondered who could be calling at this hour…
Initial confusion quickly turned to apprehension as I considered the unexpected visitor. My wolf’s instincts immediately went on alert.
I quickly got up and went to the door to look through the peephole. When I saw who was standing outside, I
was stunned.
Eleanor Blackwood?
This was the first time I had seen Eleanor since our last meeting at the Shadow Pack territory. I just didn’t expect her to suddenly show up at my door at this time.
The unexpected appearance of Eleanor caused a moment of shock. This signaled a potentially significant
and unsettling encounter, my pregnant wolf whimpering with anxiety.
I didn’t have time to think much. I immediately opened the door.
“Grandmother, why are you here?”
After some time apart, Eleanor looked even better than before. She first scanned the apartment
expressionlessly, her brows slightly furrowed. Exuding an air of pack matriarch authority without anger.
“Are you looking for Dominic? He’s gone to work, I’ll give him a call…”
However, before I could do anything, Eleanor spoke calmly. Her gaze fixed directly on me.
“I’m here to see you.”
The directness of Eleanor’s statement heightened the tension. My heart sank with a premonition of trouble.
To see me? My heart sank, but my expression remained unchanged. I immediately said with a smile,
“Grandmother, please come in.”
Soon, Eleanor was seated gracefully on the sofa in the living room. I turned to go make tea, but she stopped
me directly.
“No need for tea, just a glass of plain water will do.”
I obeyed, placed a glass of plain water in front of Eleanor. Then sat down beside her, quietly waiting for her to speak, my wolf instinctively submitting to the elder’s authority.
Eleanor took a small sip of water. Then set the glass down with deliberate precision.
