Chapter 157: The Truth Behind the Old Scandal
(Aria’s POV)
When Dominic heard my voice, he subconsciously turned back. The moment his silver–gray eyes met mine, they softened immediately, and a genuine smile spread across his face.
His powerful Alpha presence shifted from tense irritation to warm recognition, like sunlight breaking through storm clouds. He quickly walked a few steps forward and naturally took my hand, his touch sending familiar tingles through my skin.
“I just went to your herbal remedy company to find you; your colleague said you went to the coffee shop…” As he spoke, he glanced at Jason Hart, who was following behind me with obvious concern.
For some reason, Dominic grinned with that characteristic Alpha confidence, his wolf clearly pleased by something. He gently rubbed my head as usual, but there was a hint of possessive defiance in his actions, his scent wrapping around me like a territorial claim.
“Aria?” Scarlett Moon looked at me in surprise, as if she couldn’t believe her eyes.
Her perfectly styled appearance reflected her celebrity status – every hair in place, makeup flawless even after the crowd encounter. “How could it be you?”
I also looked at Scarlett Moon, surprised that she recognized me after all these years. Her familiar scent triggered memories from our university days, though we had never directly interacted.
She had been the golden she–wolf everyone admired from afar, while I was just another face in the crowd.
Scarlett seemed to suddenly remember something and turned to look at Dominic again, her eyes lighting up with recognition and hope.
“Dominic, I want to talk to you…” Her voice carried that sultry tone she was famous for, designed to capture and hold an Alpha’s attention.
Dominic frowned slightly, seemingly displeased with her familiar address. His Alpha authority became evident in his shifting posture, shoulders squaring as his wolf bristled at her presumption.
His voice also turned cold, cutting through the air like winter wind. “I have nothing to talk to you about.”
With that, he immediately took my hand and turned to walk out, his protective instincts clearly activated. The dismissal was so complete that even the watching crowd seemed to hold their breath.
Just as Dominic pulled me and began to leave, a commotion erupted among the bystanders. Someone in the. crowd had finally processed what they were seeing and shouted Scarlett’s name with star–struck enthusiasm.
“It’s really Scarlett Moon! The award–winning actress!”
“She’s even more beautiful in person!”
The recognition triggered a frenzy of fans who had been lurking nearby, their excitement reaching fever pitch. The crowd, initially peaceful and merely curious, surged forward like a pack hunting prey.
Bodies pressed against bodies as werewolves and humans alike pushed to get closer to the celebrity. The

organized queue for autographs dissolved into chaos as more people joined the fray.
I was almost knocked over by the pressing bodies, my pregnant wolf whimpering anxiously as strangers jostled against me. But Dominic shielded me with his powerful Alpha frame, his arms creating a protective
barrier.
“Stay close to me,” he commanded, his voice carrying that unmistakable Alpha authority that made my wolf instinctively obey.
The situation escalated when a young she–wolf was shoved by someone behind her. She stumbled forward with a startled yelp, falling directly into my path with flailing arms.
Dominic quickly reacted, his enhanced Alpha reflexes anticipating the impact as he raised his arm to block her fall. Despite his swift action, I was still nudged sideways, my balance threatening to give way.
The crowd continued to press in, making passage nearly impossible. Their excited scents overwhelmed my
sensitive nose – a mixture of arousal, desperation, and pack dynamics gone wrong.
“Move back!” Dominic’s voice rose, but the crowd was too caught up in their frenzy to pay attention to
anything but the celebrity in their midst.
Someone’s elbow caught me in the ribs, and I gasped with pain. My hand instinctively went to my belly,
protecting our unborn pup from the chaos.
That was the final straw for Dominic. His patience snapped, and his Alpha authority finally broke through in all its terrifying glory.
He let out a furious roar that seemed to shake the very foundations of the building. “What are you all
crowding for?”
His commanding tone and powerful presence instantly silenced the chaotic scene. The overwhelming Alpha dominance crashed over the crowd like a tidal wave, leaving the chasing fans completely awestruck.
Their wolves instinctively submitted to his superior strength, recognizing the presence of an Alpha King. They froze, completely intimidated by his territorial display, and instinctively cleared a path for him and me to
pass.
The silence was deafening after the previous chaos. Even Scarlett looked stunned by the display of raw power, her celebrity composure cracking just slightly.
After Dominic and I managed to leave the chaotic crowd, I glanced back at Scarlett Moon, who was still trapped amid the fans. Her security team was struggling to control the situation, their human strength no
match for excited werewolves.
I saw several burly men pushing their way through the throng, forming a protective barrier around Scarlett as they escorted her towards a parked luxury vehicle with tinted windows.
Dominic, noticing my gaze with his keen Alpha senses, gently turned my face back towards him. His touch was possessive yet tender, claiming my attention completely.
“What are you looking at her for? Look at me,” he said, his silver–gray eyes demanding my attention with that familiar intensity.
I instinctively met his gaze, and saw a playful glint in his deep eyes that made my wolf stir restlessly beneath my skin. The dangerous Alpha who had just dominated an entire crowd was gone, replaced by the teasing

mate I knew.
He then spoke in a low, magnetic voice that sent shivers down my spine. “What did you call me just now? Call
me again…”
I was momentarily stunned, my pregnant wolf surprisingly calm despite the chaos we’d just escaped. What did I call him? My mind felt foggy, the adrenaline from the crowd encounter still affecting my thoughts.
Seeing my confused expression, Dominic’s smile deepened, revealing that charming confidence that was so distinctly his. He reached out and gently pinched my cheek with familiar affection.
“You didn’t forget that fast, did you? Do you need me to help you remember?”
He leaned in slowly, his powerful Alpha scent wrapping around me like a warm blanket. His intention to kiss me was obvious, and my heart began racing for entirely different reasons.
I quickly covered his mouth with my hands, looking around shyly at the passing werewolves and humans. “Don’t mess around, we’re outside!”
Dominic took my hand and kissed my palm, his lips warm against my skin. “Are you going to say it or not?” I remembered what I had called him – it was a spontaneous outburst when I saw Scarlett clinging to Dominic. I had wanted to assert his identity as my mate and warn her to stay away.
Now, being specifically asked to repeat it, I felt a bit embarrassed. My wolf whimpered with shy anticipation, remembering the possessive satisfaction of that moment.
“Oh no, stop messing around, I need to go back. I still have work this afternoon!” I protested, though my voice lacked any real conviction.
Dominic looked at me, narrowing his eyes with that predatory Alpha focus. “You’re not going to say it, are you? Then I’m going to kiss you…”
Seeing the mischievous grin on his face and feeling his hand cup the back of my head as he leaned in, I knew he would follow through with his threat.
“Mate… Is that enough!” I finally gave in, the word tumbling out in a rush.
“Didn’t hear you!” he teased, his eyes twinkling with amusement.
“Dominic, you’re too much!” I complained, but couldn’t suppress my own smile.
“Hahaha…” His laughter was rich and warm, making my heart race with affection for this powerful yet playful
Alpha.
By the time I followed Dominic back to his Shadow Security office, before I could even sit down, Hunter Hayes walked in with a slight frown etched on his professional features.
His usual composed demeanor showed cracks of concern, immediately putting me on alert.
“Alpha Dominic…” Hunter’s voice carried the weight of bad news.
“What’s wrong?” Dominic’s voice shifted to his business tone, immediately alert. His Alpha instincts recognized the threat in his assistant’s manner.
“Your encounter with Ms. Scarlett Moon is trending on the territorial social networks,” Hunter reported, his expression showing concern about potential pack implications.

“Trending?” Dominic frowned slightly, his Alpha instincts recognizing the threat. He directly took the tablet from Hunter’s hand, his movements sharp and decisive.
His voice was calm yet sharp, carrying the authority of an Alpha King. “Go investigate which wolf bought this
coverage.”
It was well known that trending topics could be purchased with enough moon–silver. Apart from major explosive topics, other trivial matters simply couldn’t make it to the frending lists without financial backing.
“Yes, Alpha Dominic.” Hunter bowed slightly before leaving the office, his departure swift and efficient.
As soon as Hunter left the office, I lowered my eyes in thought, my wolf’s intuition telling me something was amiss. I had a feeling that Scarlett’s sudden return to the Northern Territory was not so simple.
