Chapter 128: Admission Rejected!
Chapter 128: Admission Rejected!
(Aria’s POV)
I’d been spending the night at Olivia’s house since she got back from her business trip, and surprisingly, none of my relatives had bothered to ask where I was. This revelation sparked something fierce within me–a decision that I wasn’t going to be taken advantage of anymore.
The following morning, I called a moving company, my hands steady as I dialed the number. I was ready to move out of my own apartment to escape my aunt’s suffocating family.
Olivia, ever the loyal friend, teased me over her mobile phone when I told her my plan.
“You’re really going to be so ruthless? You’re actually going to move?” Her voice carried both surprise and admiration. “Won’t that make you fall out with Aunt Sophia’s family?”
I confirmed my decision without hesitation. “Yes, I’m moving today.”
She applauded loudly through the speaker. “Amazing, amazing! I knew you weren’t someone who would suffer in silence forever!”
Her voice turned sharp with anger. “Only Alexander, that big i***t Alpha, thought you were a softie who could be manipulated endlessly.”
A bitter laugh escaped my lips as I realized the painful truth. I had bent over backward for Alexander, putting
myself in the most humble position as his Luna.
That subservience had ultimately made me completely dispensable to him.
The world says to love yourself first, and I knew this truth now, albeit far too late.
“I should have done this years ago,” I muttered, my wolf stirring with newfound determination.
Fearing for my well–being during this confrontation, Olivia insisted on accompanying me. She declared she
would offer her courage as pack support.
Unable to refuse her loyal friendship, I drove us back to Moon Valley Residences together.
As we pulled into the parking garage, my mobile phone rang immediately. Aunt Sophia’s voice filled with
feigned surprise.
“Hello, Aria, what’s going on? Just now, a moving company knocked on our door, saying they were here to
move someone’s belongings…”
I confirmed calmly that it was my doing.
She probed further, her voice dropping with suspicion. “What… what’s happening? Why are you suddenly
moving without telling us?”
I reminded her with practiced innocence, “Didn’t I tell you yesterday? This apartment isn’t mine; it’s a
temporary rental.”
My voice remained steady as I continued the lie. “Now that the lease is up, I naturally have to move out.
Her voice became smaller, more manipulative. “Aria, are you upset that we’ve been causing you trouble by

staying here?”
I inwardly scoffed, knowing she was playing dumb despite being completely aware of the burden they’d
created.
I decided to play along with her innocent act. “How could that be? The rental period really is up.”
My tone stayed light and dismissive. “I’m almost at the building now; we can talk when I get upstairs.”
Olivia, ever the conspirator, grinned wickedly at me. “Tough!”
I jokingly pushed her face away with my hand. “Alright, stop messing around. The real drama starts in just a
few minutes.”
She nodded knowingly, understanding that Aunt Sophia’s family wouldn’t leave easily. They would try every manipulative trick to continue clinging to me.
Upon reaching my apartment floor, we found the movers waiting patiently in the hallway. Their professional uniforms and equipment boxes filled the narrow space.
I apologized immediately, feeling guilty about the delay. “Sorry, my aunt probably didn’t understand the situation, but it’s fine now. You can start moving my belongings.”
The movers, unconcerned since I was covering their waiting time, readily began assessing my possessions.
Their leader nodded efficiently. “No problem, miss. Where would you like us to start?”
Aunt Sophia swiftly pulled me aside before I could answer, her questions tumbling out in rapid succession. “Where exactly are you moving to? Is the new apartment big enough for all of us? How many rooms does it
have?”
I described the new place with deliberate disappointment. “It’s just a two–bedroom apartment. Much cheaper but in a less desirable neighborhood.”
My voice carried subtle discouragement. “The rooms are smaller too, and there’s no luxury amenities like
here.”
Aunt Sophia, ever resourceful in her manipulation, suggested immediately, “It’s alright, we can make it work!” Her voice grew excited with planning. “We can use a curtain to create a partition in the living room for Robert to sleep comfortably.”
She continued eagerly. “Sadie and I can share a room easily. We can make do with less space.”
