The Trions, who had always been confident in their unshakeable position, were unprepared for the various movements around them, so it took them a while to react, which caused them a few losses in terms of business.
Worse, the Trion heir, Morgen, happened to be on a mission to check out a lead to the Golds at the time, leaving them relatively exposed.
Although Bleumrick had called it off for the sake of face, the Trions wanted to try a bit more, so they sent their most powerful younger generation out to a recent clue, which said that the Golds were seen somewhere East near Warrior City.
The Sephon’s advantage did not last long because, as if the fates were favoring the Trions, people realized that the Sephon Family patriarch mysteriously disappeared. According to the letter, the family maintained he was just training in order to level up again, and there was no need to worry about him.
However, Veronica—who had been with the Golds when they were hunted down—knew that the person was dead, killed by Gregory himself.
This meant that the Sephon powerhouse was gone and, if found out—unless they were able to secure more forces to defend them and their assets—then they could be up for grabs, too.
Hey, who’d have thought those events would cause so many things to happening afterwards?
Soon, Morgen arrived, cutting his mission short after a post from his family. He teleported using the Mercenary Hall, reappearing and investigating their enemies. It took a short while for him to notice this suspicion with the Sephons, though they didn’t have proof yet.
Knowing him, however, it would not take long.
He even found out that another elder hadn’t been seen for a while. Hopefully, they were dead and their families simply didn’t admit it.
This was heaven-sent to the Trions because their own elder had been deadly ill and no amount of aether stones was enough to help him level up anymore, at least not in time.
If a war between the families actually exploded, the old man of the Sephon family would’ve been quite troublesome.
Veronica knew all this because of the letter, while her family knew this because it wasn’t a secret. All over the City, in fact, people had been watching the changes in the upper class. The void left by the Golds was large, and people were fighting to fill it.
Anyway, what happened to Hubble was also related to Bleuelle, in a sense.
