Preston couldn’t wait to know whether the fan was real or not, which was related to his dignity and fame.
Maximilian raised his head and said proudly, “If you watch the rock in the lower right corner of the fan with a 60x magnifying glass, you can see my name on it. The fan was imitated when I was young and ignorant. I don’t know how it was in your hands now. It’s my fault.”
Others present were dumbfounded. It was shocking enough to know that the fan was a fake. Now he said the fan was painted when he was young, which made them transfixed.
What on earth was going on?
If what Maximilian said was true, he must be... a genius in painting!
After a while, Marcus said anxiously, “Laura, please bring me the magnifying glass in the room. I’ll take a look at it carefully!”
“All right.”
Laura ran back to the room to get the magnifying glass, and had no ideas to question Maximilian.
Preston stared at the unfolded fan in the hands of Marcus transfixed. Then there was a strong disturbance in his mind. His sixth sense told him what Maximilian said was true!
Victoria leaned over to Maximilian and whispered, “Are you serious or just kidding?”
“Of course I’m serious. Don’t you believe what I told you last time? In fact, I am a versatile talent.” Maximilian said confidently.
Victoria rolled her eyes.
Actually, she was in great shock. What Maximilian said last time was true?
He really could play several musical instruments, and was good at painting, diving, swimming and sailing... He was a legendary man!
Maximilian held the shocked Victoria into his arms and whispered, “I am the so-called treasure man, and there are a lot of shining points in me waiting for you to discover.”
“You are so tiresome. Just be serious.” Victoria said shyly and struggled gently.
But Victoria’s gentle movement couldn’t free her from Maximilian’s arms.
Instead, Victoria felt hot all over, and her strength seemed to have been taken away, so she just leaned weakly in Maximilian’s arms.
Flora stared at Victoria and Maximilian with jealousy, and then she felt so sad.
Laura found the magnifying glass, ran out quickly and handed it to Marcus. “Marcus, you should watch it carefully and make sure you don’t get it wrong.”
“I see. How could I be wrong?” Marcus murmured, picked up the magnifying glass and looked at the fan carefully.
Maximilian held out his finger and pointed directly at spot on the fan, “There.”
Marcus positioned the magnifying glass toward where Maximilian pointed at. After close and careful observation, he saw Maximilian’s name on it indeed.
“It is. It’s Maximilian’s name! It’s so incredible!”
Marcus was so excited that his hands were trembling and the magnifying glass in his hands almost fell off.
Preston’s face darkened, and he had completely lost his face.
Maximilian intended to give Preston a hint in case he ignored what he said.
Preston said with a sullen face, “I will pay back what happened today. I will certainly thank you for your magnanimity at that time!” Preston replied with a pun, and then strode to leave quickly.
Marcus shook the fan and stared at Maximilian, “Maximilian, since you have such a great skill in painting, why...” Marcus did not know how to continue with his words.
In Marcus’s view, Maximilian had such amazing painting skills that he could make a living by it. Why had he been regarded as an idle loser these years?
Maximilian shook his head with a smile, “Dad, there are so many people with excellent painting skills. It’s quite hard to support a family with just the painting skills.”
“If someone wants to become a painter who can sell his paintings at a high price, good paintings skill was the basis, but not the most important aspect at all. It was fundamental to have enough capital to decorate and promote it.”
“As for me, I didn’t have any network resources at that time. If I wanted to make money by painting, I had to do what a painting worker did. There’s no difference between the painting worker and a deliveryman.”
Maximilian’s words made Marcus speechless, and Marcus just sighed.
“That’s right. But since you have talent in this field, you should take advantage of it and strive to be a famous painter in the future, which will bring glory to our family.”
Marcus patted Maximilian on his shoulder, as if he was cheering Maximilian up.
Laura curled her lips and was ready to sneer at Maximilian.
But at the thought of what just happened, she had better not say anything.
