Wooing My ex-wife (Gwendolyn and Maverick) novel Chapter 546

Chapter 546 Abs

Her originally fair and delicate skin had been severely chafed by the heavy metal handcuffs.

Thankfully, Cedrick administered a sedative in time. Otherwise, Gwendolyn's hands would've been seriously damaged, even to the extent of losing a layer of flesh down to the bone.

Joshua stood beside the door, taking in the affectionate interaction between the couple, and sighed wholeheartedly. Life is indeed full of ups and downs. Things became better for once and just proceeded to go downhill from there. In my recollection, Cedrick's and Gwendolyn's lives had never been peaceful. Fate hasn't been kind to them.

While Joshua was lost in his thoughts, Cedrick asked, “Can you think of another way? A method that doesn't require sedation and can help Gwenny recover quickly while rapidly consuming her energy?”

Joshua sighed. “Cedrick, it would be great if such a perfect solution is available.”

The light in Cedrick's eyes gradually dimmed.

Sensing his low spirits, Joshua suggested, “For now, the best method would be to bind Gwendolyn and lock her in the basement to endure the night.”

Cedrick didn't even look at him. That's not helpful at all.

Joshua continued contemplating before proposing another idea. “Or we can modify the basement a little and add some stress-relieving items that can allow her to vent without harming her body. At night, we can lock Gwendolyn in the basement. When her energy depletes and she falls silent, you can then carry her out and bring her to the laboratory for an IV drip. Cedrick, take your time to consider. I think this is the best solution so far. It won't hurt you and can also protect Gwendolyn.”

Cedrick mulled over Joshua's suggestion, thinking they could really give that method a try. “When Gwenny wakes up tomorrow, I'll discuss this matter with her.”

Two hours later, Cedrick, carrying a sleeping Gwendolyn, walked alone through the winding corridors in the Jenson residence.

As he walked, he pondered Joshua's proposition.

The more he thought about it, the more he felt that it was a method worth trying.

He quickly carried Gwendolyn back to the room to rest. He spent the afternoon at home catching up on sleep, and now that he wasn't sleepy anymore, he decided to try modifying the basement.

With that thought, he immediately plunged into the task of remodeling the basement.

Since Gwendolyn had fallen ill, she felt there were no mornings in her day.

Every time she woke up, it was already either noon or afternoon.

Fortunately, the recent fluid administration had significantly reduced her fatigue.

When she woke up, Cedrick happened to have just figured out that she should be waking up, so he came in with a bowl of oatmeal.

Gwendolyn leaned against the head of the bed, looking at him with a vacant expression.

A similar thing was happening, featuring the same scene and the familiar oatmeal.

“Darling, it's time to eat. It's oatmeal for lunch today.” Cedrick smiled at her while regarding her with his tenderness-filled dark eyes.

Gwendolyn didn't respond.

She watched as he blew on the oatmeal to cool it down, then brought it to her lips. Inexplicably, she felt nauseous.

“Can we not have oatmeal anymore? I get annoyed just looking at it these days.”

Cedrick coaxed her patiently, “This is the last oatmeal you'll be having. Tomorrow, I'll refer to a different cookbook to prepare steamed eggs and meat stew for you. What do you say?”

Gwendolyn licked her lips, craving the food he mentioned.

Cedrick flashed a mysterious smile and continued, “Be good, Gwenny. At least eat half a bowl of this oatmeal. After you're done, I'll take you to see a surprise. I believe you'll love it.”

Gwendolyn nodded solemnly as she uttered, “Before that, there's something else we need to do.”

“What's that?”

Gwendolyn whispered beside his ear, “Strip you bare and check your body for wounds.”

“I was very good last night, so I didn't get injured.”

Fine. Cedrick had nothing to hide since he genuinely wasn't injured. “In that case, hurry up and finish this oatmeal. Once you're done, I'll strip for you to see.”

A wave of guilt washed over Gwendolyn. “I'm sorry. I didn't think my getting sick would cause you to be so badly injured.”

Cedrick smiled indifferently, held her hand, and placed her palm on his chest, directly above his heart. “Physical pain is nothing. Fortunately, you didn't hurt my heart, Darling.”

If they were to divorce because of that, he would genuinely be in unbearable pain.

Gwendolyn said, “But I don't want to hurt you at all, neither physically nor emotionally. I just want to love you properly and live a happy and peaceful life with you and our children.”

“We will.”

Hearing his prompt reply, Gwendolyn added with all seriousness, “I need to make it clear to you that from now on, whenever I get sick, you cannot let me vent on your body. Never.”

Cedrick turned around and grabbed her shoulders. “The surprise I want to show you later has something to do with this. I'll bring you there in a while, Darling. Let's try it out tonight to see if this method works.”

Gwendolyn's interest was piqued after hearing that.

“Let's go to see your so-called surprise, then.”

She turned to leave but was pulled back by Cedrick, causing her to fall into his bruise-covered chest.

An anticipatory look filled his dark gaze as he sneered. “Before we go, I want another kiss from you, Gwenny. My abs would also like to be spoiled by your kisses. With your kiss, those wounds really don't hurt anymore.”

Gwendolyn's eyes gleamed with more hints of mischief than his. “In that case, Ceddy, I should let you enjoy the intimate service provided by your wife.”

With that, she lifted her head and kissed his lips, gradually shifting her lips down to kiss his chin, Adam's apple, collarbone, and chest.

Finally, her pink lips reached his manhood.

Subsequently, an amorous vibe filled the atmosphere inside the room.
