Chapter 4
As soon as these words were spoken, everyone was stunned.
Janet’s face turned extremely embarrassed. She probably didn’t expect Harry to announce our identities in front of everyone.
Cristofer seemed to have heard a joke, with a sarcastic smile on his lips: “Your person? You
embraced her and treated her like a servant?”
“Is she your woman? Ask the people in your company. For eight years, who knew she was your girlfriend? Not only does she obey your every command, but she also watches you leave her time and time again, rushing to another woman.”
Harry, I used to think that you were brave and that you would genuinely treat her well, but I was
still mistaken.”
年
Christopher looked at him mockingly, grabbed my hand tightly, and led me away.
I hadn’t seen him for eight years, but the sense of security he exuded still put me at ease.
He made me sit in the car and prepared my favorite milk tea and snacks for me. I could freely
expose my not–so–elegant eating habits.
And before, Harry left the snack crumbs in the car and mocked me like a pig.
But later in Janet’s post, all of it was Harry indulgently opening snack bags for her.
I couldn’t help it anymore, tears filled my eyes and streamed down my face.
Cristofer slowly wiped away my tears, his words filled with pity: “Once we leave this time, we will
never come back again. I will protect you for the rest of my life.”
I didn’t speak, I just let him embrace me and felt his stubble gently brushing against my forehead.
He took me to the hotel and tacitly opened two rooms. I relaxed and freshened up, and then
Cristofer knocked on the door.
I opened the door and saw a cup of rich milk.
“In college, we used to take a walk every night, and you always wanted to buy a cup of hot milk.”
I nodded vigorously, drank it all in one gulp, without wasting a drop.
He smiled and ruffled my hair, “Alright, rest early. I will handle everything in the next few days, and then we will leave this place.”
Freturned to bed and in my dream, I remembered all the past moments with Cristofer and Harry.
Cristofer and I were classmates, and he excelled in his studies. He was even a well–known top
1/5
Student in the school, and was recommended to study abroad.
Both he and I understood that this opportunity was rare, and if we gave up, we would never have it
again.
And when he found out that I didn’t want to go for his sake, he kept targeting me relentlessly, all
because of his so–called fans and support group.
At first, I could still tolerate it, after all, it was just some difficulties in life.
Little did I know that it would get worse later on. Not only did they put dead rats in my food, but they
also scattered nails on my bed.
I could tolerate everything, but in the end of the final exams, they actually conspired to accuse me of cheating.
A piece of paper floated to my feet, and I was immediately judged as cheating.
When almost no one spoke up for me at that time, Harry stood up and said that I was being
slandered.
The headmaster’s face turned ugly when asked to provide evidence, so he, risking the same punishment, said expressionlessly, “During the exam, I kept an eye on Valery, and I can guarantee
that she did not cheat.”
All the teachers were shocked. He continued, “I like Valery, so I have been watching her. The handwriting on that paper is very ugly, it could never be written by her.”
At that time, I only knew that this seemingly quiet boy had silently admired me for a long time.
At that time, I thought maybe Harry would be a better fit for me, so I separated from Cristofer and
have been with Harry ever since.
The past was indeed beautiful, but reality couldn’t withstand the erosion of time.
The next day, just as I woke up, I was immediately disturbed by my colleague’s phone call.
She kept asking me where I was, the company was in chaos, and Harry was furious.
In the few photos she took, Harry had a scruffy beard and the buttons on his vest were also
misaligned.
He tightly grabbed Attorney’s collar, as if interrogating something.
My colleague said, “Mr. Mooney is asking him if there were any loopholes in your resignation
contract, he wants you to come back.”
He also said, you must pick out the thorn and come back, otherwise the lawyer will have to get
lost!”

was at a loss for words and didn’t know what to say. All I could do was utter some polite words and tell her that I wouldn’t go back again.
She then sent a photo, it was a picture of Janet tightly hugging Harry, and Harry slowly became less
irritable.
She said, “Valery, we all know that you were Mr. Mooney’s girlfriend for eight years. to watch your boyfriend being taken away by someone else?”

Seeing the intimate behavior between the two of them, surprisingly, there was not a trace of sadness in my heart, only helplessness.
Because I didn’t want to hear about the two of them anymore from the bottom of my heart.
I replied, “There’s nothing I can’t bear about worn–out shoes that have been walked through. I’m not a dog either, guarding the poop to prevent others from eating it.”
I did not reply to my colleague anymore, I took out the SIM card from my phone and threw it aside.
