Will: 'Since that's the case, you'll make up to me after this. Right?'

His words were always laced with a hint of deeper meaning.

Elisa's eyes flickered, and for a while, she didn't know how to respond.

Ignoring him wasn't an option for sure.

But if she replied, it would mean she gave him hope to pursue her.

Elisa frowned and pondered before replying with an indifferent emoji.

Will: 'You owe me dinner.'

Elisa: 'Sure.'

Just like that, she didn't say anything more, and Will was also smart enough to let the matter slide.

Over the next few days, everything went smoothly. Julia's condition had stabilized, and she even received another injection. She noticed that Elisa and Gareth seemed closer than before and had even started dating. She couldn't stop smiling, and even getting a shot wasn't so daunting anymore because they would accompany her to the doctor's appointment each time. Ironically, Julia had even begun to look forward to getting her injections.

The day had finally arrived for Old Mr. Tabor's birthday celebration, and most of the creme de la creme in the city had turned up for the festivity. Those who didn't appear were either unimportant or had adversarial relations with the Tabor family.
