The next morning, when Elijah woke up, it was half past seven.
Actually, he still felt a bit sleepy. However, he resisted the drowsiness, put away the sachet, and got out of bed.
When he arrived at Cordelia's room, he found that her room door was wide open and the bed was neatly made. She had already left.
Walking into the empty room, Elijah felt a wave of melancholy.
"She has left so early..."
He instantly collapsed onto the bed, and the pillow still carried the lingering scent of Cordelia's hair, which made him feel incredibly peaceful.
So, he gradually fell asleep again in this room.
Cordelia left in the early morning, around six o'clock.
She wasn't deliberately avoiding Elijah but had to leave early because her flight to Grant City was around eight o'clock. And she needed to go back to the Maple Villa to pick up her luggage.
At noon, Cordelia was already sitting across from Imogen, having lunch together.
Imogen had been eating a lot recently, and Cordelia was amazed by her voracious appetite.
"It seems like the baby is gradually descending. Imogen, have you considered a cesarean section?" Cordelia asked.
Imogen had already made up her mind and answered without hesitation, "As long as the babies and I are safe, I don't insist on giving birth naturally."
Cordelia nodded, knowing that Imogen was well aware of the situation, and she felt relieved.
"Adam said you didn't come back last night," Cordelia asked again.
Imogen was taken aback for a moment, then replied, "Yes, I stayed at a hotel, but I stayed alone."
Cordelia finally breathed a sigh of relief.
After all, Imogen's belly was really big. She could usually hide it with loose clothes, but it would be exposed sooner or later if she had intimate contact with Ben.
Ben shook his head. "I wanted to hear your opinion on this matter."
"What do you mean? Are you suspecting that the child is not yours?" Elijah raised his eyebrow and felt amused.
Ben snorted, "Do you think I'm so easily fooled?"
"So?"
"Imogen's belly is bigger than it should be," Ben said seriously.
"Isn't it the same thing I said?" Elijah said disdainfully as if he could see through him.
"I mean, it's much bigger. Much!!" He picked up a glass of whiskey and finished it in one gulp.
Elijah fell silent for a few seconds and said, "I'll help you check right away!"
