Unmasking Mrs. Newton's Secret Identities novel Chapter 1978

"Ah, Chandler's driver is here to pick me up. Sorry, Colin, I can't stay any longer."

With the act nearly complete, Helen quickly found an excuse to leave.

"It's okay. Just seeing you was enough for me," Colin said reluctantly, watching her go.

In truth, he was eager for her to leave. The allure of the Destiny Corporation's weapons stockpile made it impossible to waste more time.

"You're too kind. I'll find another time for us to meet," Helen said with a smile, then turned and left.

As she walked away, she muttered, "I didn't mean any of what I said."

After leaving the café, Helen took a few turns before finally getting into the Newton family's car.

James was driving, with Chandler already inside.

"Drive, James," Helen said, taking off the necklace. She couldn't wait to leave. Colin was just too cheesy, and the thought of him made her sick.

Chandler watched her with curiosity, his expression full of meaning.

"What are you staring at me for?" Helen felt uncomfortable under his gaze.

"It's nothing. I just realized my wife is quite the actress," Chandler joked.

"Yeah, your wife's out on a date with another man, and you're still joking. Aren't you even a little worried?" Helen teased him.

"That's right. No one else would personally pick up his wife and send her off to meet her rival like Mr. Newton does."

Chandler shot him a look. "If you think your job is too easy, I can send you back to Apreeka."

"I'll shut up!" James quickly focused on driving, sensing the shift in mood.

Helen couldn't help but laugh at the situation.

"Mr. Newton approved the funds to replace all our Destiny Corporation training equipment. We were wondering what to do with the old stuff, and now it's perfect. Colin will take care of it for us."

He barely finished speaking when his phone rang.

Destiny Corporation operatives carried two phones—one for personal use and one for official business. Calls to the personal phone were typically urgent.

This time, it was the personal phone ringing.

James quickly pulled over and answered the call.

After a brief exchange, he hung up and turned to report. "Mr. Newton, Reggie says the Holland family asked the Darnovia's mafia for a batch of weapons, which are being shipped by sea. The delivery's tonight!"

Chandler's expression shifted slightly. He hesitated before speaking, "They're buying so many weapons now. Looks like they're trying to challenge Destiny Corporation."

After a brief silence, he added, "Tell them the training equipment no longer needs to be shipped. Unload it on-site and sell it as scrap metal. The proceeds will go toward funding the training base."
