Unmasking Mrs. Newton's Secret Identities novel Chapter 1569

Taylor realized that a confrontation was unavoidable, and he decided to let go of the man at his feet. As he unbuttoned his jacket, he carefully stepped back toward Abigail.

"I'll hold them off; you look for a chance to run—"

Before he could finish, the group charged at them.

Taylor fought back fiercely, throwing a flurry of punches and kicks. Though he held his own, he quickly realized he couldn't fend off all the attackers.

Taking advantage of his distraction, one of them stealthily moved behind him, ready to strike. Just before the blow could land, Taylor heard a sudden, muffled groan behind him.

He turned to find a man crumpling to the ground. To his surprise, Abigail had seized a baseball bat from one of the attackers, resting it confidently on her shoulder with a victorious grin.

Taylor chuckled, giving her an approving thumbs-up. "Nice work, Ms. Fitzgerald!"

Even though she was proud of her accomplishment, Abigail's expression turned to alarm when she noticed someone lunging at Taylor with a knife. "Watch out!" she cried.

Taylor quickly dodged to the side, and Abigail rushed in, expertly knocking the knife from the assailant's hand with a precise swing of her bat. She followed up with a powerful kick, sending him sprawling to the ground.

She wiped her hands and turned to Taylor with a smirk. "No need to thank me—I just saved your life!"

Just as she finished speaking, a pair of hands shot out from behind—one gripping her neck and the other tugging at her hair, yanking her backward.

Startled, Abigail was dragged along the ground, her upper body suspended in the air.

Seeing this, Taylor rushed to the attacker, gripping him by the collar and delivering three solid punches to his temple. The man barely had time to react before he collapsed, foaming at the mouth.

At that moment, Abigail tumbled to the ground beside him.

"Shut up!" Abigail snapped back.

Taylor made a zipping motion across his lips, conceding for the moment.

Seeing that Abigail and Taylor weren't backing down, the group huddled together to discuss their options. In the end, they decided to let the bespectacled man go.

"Looks like you've got guts, but I'm afraid this isn't over. Just wait!" the leader warned.

With that, they helped their injured comrade into a car and sped away.

As the vehicle vanished into the distance, Abigail sighed in relief and playfully shoved Taylor aside. "Get off me, stop trying to take advantage of me!"

"Who's taking advantage of whom?" Taylor shot back, rolling his eyes in frustration.
