Unmasking Mrs. Newton's Secret Identities novel Chapter 1530

When Helen returned to the set in the evening, Chandler had already left. Just as she let out a sigh of relief, her phone buzzed with an unfamiliar call.

She pressed the answer button and held the phone to her ear, only to be met by a furious voice that made her instinctively pull it away.

"Kaylee, are you out of your mind? If you don't come back to work tomorrow, you can expect to pay the penalty for breaching your contract!"

Helen was already feeling on edge from almost exposing herself in front of Chandler, and now someone had the audacity to escalate the situation—what terrible luck for him.

When the other person fell silent, Helen took a deep breath and replied softly, "I'm really sorry. I had an accident at sea and lost my memory. Could you please remind me of the company address?"

Kaylee's diary didn't offer much detail about her workplace, so Helen had no idea where it was located.

"Elevate Contractors—look it up yourself!" the man snapped before abruptly hanging up.

"Well, consider yourself unlucky," Helen said, a sly smile appearing on her lips.

Just then, Taylor approached, sensing the tension in her demeanor. "What's going on, Ms. Kaylee?"

"Nothing at all," Helen replied, forcing a smile. "Do you know anything about Elevate Contractors?"

"Isn't that the construction firm under Xander Group? Do you have a project in mind, Ms. Kaylee?" Taylor asked, genuinely intrigued.

"Xander Group?" Helen's icy demeanor softened slightly. She realized she needed to tread carefully.

"Yeah! Do you want me to put in a good word? I can make sure they give you the best rate," Taylor offered enthusiastically.

"It's fine. I was just curious," Helen replied, opting to investigate the situation further before making any decisions.

A knowing smile spread across Helen's face as she pulled out the box of pumpkin spice cookies and handed it to Taylor. "I don't eat pumpkin spice, but why don't you give them a try, Mr. Xander?"

"It will be rude of me to refuse!" Taylor exclaimed, grabbing the box. After opening it, he tossed a cookie into his mouth.

As he chewed, he teased Abigail, "You should take notes from Ms. Kaylee—look how generous she is!"

"Mind your own business!" Abigail shot back, lunging for the box. "If I'm stingy, then don't eat any! Give it back!"

"Looks like you can't reach them, huh? I'm not giving them to you! Come and catch me if you can!" Taylor taunted, darting around Helen.

Abigail chased after him, both of them exchanging playful jabs. Helen stood in the middle, feeling a bit dizzy from their energetic antics.
