15 minutes later, Taylor and Abigail were dancing wildly on the table when the door was breached from outside, and uniformed police rushed in with weapons.
"Put your hands on your head and lie down. Don't move!"
Taylor and Abigail raised their hands at the same time and instantly quietened down, staring at the police with innocent expressions.
"Sir, we are good people. Watch your gun." Taylor wore a sly smile.
"We received a report saying that there are people gathering here for illegal activities. Please cooperate with the investigation."
Taylor took Abigail's hand and jumped down from the table, calmly putting on the jacket in front of them.
"We can cooperate with the investigation, but I think you've made a mistake. We are the ones who called the police," Abigail said with a confident yet polite smile.
"You called the police?" The leading police officer expressed his doubt. "Then why is it said that the people in room 106 are committing crimes?"
Abigail shrugged, spreading her hands indifferently. "Either we were too nervous and made a mistake, or your operator misheard us. We said 206, not 106."
The police sized them up skeptically and searched the room. After a few minutes, they returned empty-handed.
Only then did the leading police officer look over with a raised eyebrow. "Are you sure you're not making a false report?"
With so many police officers dispatched and weapons involved in this operation, he was determined not to return empty-handed. If they found nothing, he would take the two people back for a warning to assert his authority.
"Just go check it out, and you'll know whether it's fake or not," Taylor said with a playful grin, easing the tense atmosphere.
Miguel intended to jump from the second floor, but his limbs felt weak, and he might really get shot if he was slow. After weighing the situation, he decided to stop resisting and raise his hands in surrender.
One of the police officers immediately rushed over to handcuff him. Another two police officers searched the room and easily found a packet of powder on the bathroom sink.
The leading police officer brought the powder to Miguel and asked sternly, "Is it just you? Do you have any accomplices?"
"That's right, Miguel. Just tell us if you have any accomplices. This is a very serious charge, so don't bear it yourself." Taylor pushed past the police and went forward with a gloating smile.
Miguel instantly understood what was going on. He gritted his teeth in anger and shouted defiantly, "I want a lawyer."
"You are caught red-handed. You won't be able to get away with or without a lawyer. Take him away."
