"Have one more." Chandler ignored Vincent's hostile gaze and showered Helen with attention. Helen obeyed obediently, smiling sweetly with every bite she took.
When Chandler reached out again to take the steak to feed Helen, Vincent finally couldn't hold back and took the steak away.
Chandler took nothing and looked at Vincent innocently, "What's wrong, Mr. Whitlock? You talk so big, yet you can't even make my wife feel full?"
"Shut up." Vincent slammed the things on the table. "Go away; I don't want to see you now."
Chandler thought for a while and put down the fork. "Alright." He then turned to Helen and asked gently, "Are you full?"
"I'm full," Helen said with a smile.
"Then, let's go." Chandler took her hand, their fingers intertwined, and they got up together.
"Hey, what are you doing?" Vincent became anxious. "I haven't eaten, yet you're leaving?"
"You only asked me to have a meal with you; you didn't say how long the meal will be," Helen said. "I've come and eaten—haven't I done everything you requested?"
"Yes, but…" For a moment, Vincent was at a loss for words. He didn't know how to refute her.
"If you really want to be a part of Helly's family, we're currently in need of a cook in our house. You can be a cook there," Chandler teased.
"You want me to cook for you? Are you in your right mind?" Vincent shouted.
"Then forget it. I never force others, just like how I won't force Helen to stay by my side. Look how loving we are now; this is what they called 'fate.'"
Chandler raised their interlocking hands to show Vincent and said, "I'm leaving with my wife. Don't forget to send the medicines over later."
With that, he took Helen's hand and left gracefully.
This morning, he purposely drove another car and waited near her house. As soon as he saw her car leaving, he started the engine and followed her at a distance.
After tailing her for a while, he realized that she kept turning around and changing directions. He had no idea what she was doing.
Just as she was nearing the company, she suddenly made a sharp turn and drove far away, successfully heading in the opposite direction of the company.
"Has she discovered me?" Jenson followed her in confusion and gradually got closer, but Germaine didn't seem to notice him.
While he was feeling bored, Germaine seemed to drive into a dead-end. She turned on the hazard light and was about to make a turn. The problem was that Jenson braked too suddenly, and his car stalled, causing them unable to make a turn in time.
Seeing that the door of the car in front opened and Germaine was about to get out to negotiate, Jenson quickly unbuckled his seat belt and put on the cap he had prepared. He swiftly got out of the car and ran out of the alley.
When Germaine came over and saw no one in the car, and her car couldn't reverse, she had no choice but to return to take her bag and leave on foot.
