Unmasking Mrs. Newton's Secret Identities novel Chapter 1433

"I'm just average," Caroline replied, maintaining her distance as she walked alongside the car. "But in the past, whenever Taylor wanted to make high-end modifications, he always had to consult me first."

"I see," Abigail replied, nodding thoughtfully. "It seems Taylor really values your opinion, Ms. Watson. I assume the car he planned to take to the race at Nightshade Mountain was also modified by you. Is that right?"

"Indeed," Caroline said, a smug smile on her face.

"Really?" Abigail abruptly stopped, feigning surprise. "So how did you miss the fact that the brakes were faulty? Or did you take money from Miguel and deliberately cover it up to sabotage Taylor?"

It turned out that Taylor's car had gone directly to the scrapyard after the wreck. Meanwhile, everyone else was oblivious, thinking he was just moving on to something new.

At Abigail's words, surprised looks flickered among the group, and all eyes turned to Caroline. Though no one spoke, their gazes held unmistakable suspicion.

"Why are you all looking at me like that?" Caroline snapped, her frustration boiling over. "You all know me better than that! Do you really think I'd ever stoop so low as to be interested in that scumbag Miguel?"

After a moment's pause, she slapped the car's frame and pointed an accusatory finger at Abigail. "Who do you think you're trying to provoke, huh?"

This was her territory, and this newcomer was acting like she didn't even exist.

"Hold on, hold on." Knox Larkin and Oscar Kenworthy quickly stepped in to mediate. "We're all friends here; let's keep things civil."

"Who said we're friends?" Caroline shot back, pushing Oscar's hand away and glaring at him. "Didn't you hear what she just said? She accused me of trying to hurt Taylor!

"It's clear she's just trying to stir up drama! Women like her might have you wrapped around their fingers, but I see through her tricks in a heartbeat!"

With that, the three men fell silent.

In this clash between the women, they felt powerless.

"Why does it matter if someone works in a bar? At least they're earning their keep honestly. And when it comes to clothes, comfort is what really matters; whether they're cheap or not isn't your call." Abigail crossed her arms, a defiant glimmer in her eyes.

She continued, "You can continue with your lofty speeches, but have you ever considered how much of the money you spend is actually yours? Relying on your family is one thing, but I've never heard anyone defend it so boldly."

Caroline's anger flared even more with each word, her face reddening as embarrassment gave way to rage.

"Do you really think you're that great behind the wheel? That lightweight bike is the only reason you even stood a chance on the track! Put you behind the wheel of a real car, and Taylor would have you choking on his exhaust in seconds!"

"Okay, okay, that's enough," one of the guys interjected, stepping in to restrain Caroline while apologizing to Abigail. "I'm really sorry, Ms. Fitzgerald. Caroline might not be feeling her best; please don't let it get to you."

"Don't touch me!" Caroline snapped, her anger boiling over. "That rookie doesn't even deserve to be in our club!"

"If that's how you feel," Abigail shot back, "then let's let our skills do the talking."
