The two of them walked to the side of the road together.
"Is this your so-called 'girlfriend'?" Abigail asked, her disbelief evident as she stared at the modified car.
"What do you think? It's pretty impressive, right?" Taylor said, proudly patting the hood before hopping up to sit on it. "Tonight, I'm taking this beauty to claim the championship belt at Nightshade Mountain. Just wait—you'll see why they call me the 'Driving Legend of Glendale'!"
"Driving legend?" Abigail replied, a smirk tugging at her lips. "You? Seriously?"
"What? You don't believe me? How about a bet? If I win, you have to call me 'boss' from now on!" Taylor challenged, standing tall with confidence.
"How childish." Abigail scoffed, rolling her eyes. "But I'll admit, this car does look pretty damn good."
"Absolutely," Taylor replied, resting his hand on the car. "You have no idea how much work I put into this. I waited six months for the modifications to be finished. Honestly, this car is way more reliable than any girlfriend."
Pulling out his keys, he added, "Anyway, enough talk. It's almost time. I've got to head to the race. Get ready to celebrate when I come back victorious,"
Just as he was about to hop into the driver's seat, a sharp pain shot through his neck.
"Ouch—" Taylor instinctively reached back and felt a silver needle. His eyes widened in shock as he turned to Abigail, fury bubbling up. "You-you're out of your mind! I have important business tonight! You can't just—"
Before he could finish, he collapsed.
Abigail steadied him, a triumphant smile spreading across her face. This upgraded tranquilizer worked like a charm—thanks to Helen's craftsmanship.
Without hesitation, Abigail shoved Taylor into the passenger seat. Climbing into the driver's seat, she fired up the engine and took off in a flash.
After a tense moment, he regained his composure and shot her a disappointed look. Without saying a word, he slid into the driver's seat and started the engine.
"Are you really that upset?" Abigail asked, leaning halfway out of the passenger window. "I was just joking! The race isn't canceled; it's only postponed by three days."
Taylor frowned, pointedly avoiding her gaze.
"Here's an idea, if we have a match and you win, I'll acknowledge you as my 'big brother' and agree to stop bothering you!"
"Deal!"
Without a second thought, Taylor jumped at the challenge, fed up with Abigail's antics. He was determined to show her who truly held the upper hand.
