Helen took a look at Gloria's work and instantly spotted the problem. Gloria's work was "Leaping Tiger", but the tiger looked unimposing with hollow and lifeless eyes. It portrayed her great embroidery skills, but it fell short due to this.
After a moment of thinking, Helen whispered to Gloria while the organizer was discussing with Gabriela.
Upon hearing that, Gloria's eyes lit up as if there was hope again. With a serious nod, she returned to her seat and picked up the threads and needles again.
A few minutes later, she came before the main judge and Gabriela with her finished work. "Ms. Moguel, I think you misunderstood it.
"The reason why the organizer hasn't announced the winner for so long is not because we are sore losers, but because of another reason." Gloria was confident and composed.
What is the reason?" Gabriela was skeptical about it.
"You'll know once you see it." With that, Gloria held her embroidery in front of her, facing the judges and Gabriela. Then, she looked up at the sun and adjusted the angle of her work bit by bit.
And so the magic happened. Under the sun, the previously drowsy tiger's eyes seemed to come to life and even blink upon closer look.
However, they realized that it was just the effect of light refraction when they got closer.
"It's so wonderful." The main judge couldn't help but applaud. "Ms. Hathaway, could this be the long-lost Fluff Stitch Technique?"
Gloria nodded with a faint smile. "It is."
"The youths are really impressive." The main judge nodded repeatedly, smiling from ear to ear.
"Did you hear what this Sapanian woman said? Embroidery is left behind by our ancestors, yet they want to claim it. They have gone overboard."
"What did you say? How could a small country like Sapan nurture the art of embroidery? Are you shameless?"
"Drive this Sapanian woman out!"
Sapan used to invade Grand Cathay in the last century, and the historical hatred was deeply embedded in the heart of every Cathayan.
What Gabriela did was undoubtedly a challenge to every Cathayan's bottom line, and every Cathayan would definitely defend it.
