Unmasking Mrs. Newton's Secret Identities novel Chapter 1361

Finally, the host called Sadie's number.

Taking a few deep breaths, she steadied her racing emotions. With Dylan's eager gaze fixed on her, she walked confidently onto the stage.

Standing at the prepared desk, Sadie closed her eyes for a moment, mentally recalling every detail of "A Moonlit Night on the Spring River".

Without further hesitation, she picked up her brush and began to replicate the piece from memory. Ten minutes later, she finished with a decisive stroke, presenting a majestic work of calligraphy to the audience.

A brief silence filled the hall as Sadie held her breath, anxiously awaiting the judges' scores while deliberately avoiding Augustine's gaze.

The live broadcast camera zoomed in on her creation, providing a close-up for both the audience in the hall and those watching at home.

Every letter radiated strength and grandeur, showcasing the extraordinary talent of its creator. Reading the poem felt like stepping into ancient times, inviting the audience to share in the poet's uninhibited joy and revelry.

Dylan sat behind the judges' table, directly facing Augustine. "Mr. Crawford, what do you think of my student's calligraphy?" he boasted, relishing the chance to upstage Augustine.

However, contrary to his expectations, the judges didn't respond with enthusiasm or surprise. Instead, their expressions revealed a certain complexity.

There was no doubt that Sadie's work stood out as the most impressive among the 25 contestants; even Gloria, who had just received the highest score, seemed to pale in comparison.

Despite this, the judges found themselves in a dilemma. Having recently viewed Helen's work, they couldn't shake the feeling that there was a striking similarity between her piece and Sadie's.

However, since Helen hadn't created "A Moonlit Night on the Spring River" during the preliminary evaluations, the judges were left wondering whether they were witnessing two geniuses or if one had merely copied the other.

Augustine's gaze was particularly discerning; he could see that while Sadie's writing was expressive, it lacked the depth associated with true brilliance.

"Sadie," Augustine called out, setting down his scoring sheet. With a measured tone, he asked, "I hear you're a student of Mr. Snyder. Is that correct?"

He couldn't stand being in the same room as Augustine for another moment.

Moving to the audience section, he raised his right fist, offering Sadie an encouraging gesture from afar.

With a nod, Sadie smiled and began, "Indeed, it was the guidance of a calligraphy expert that helped me achieve this."

"I see," Augustine replied, his eyes lighting up with interest. "And who might this esteemed calligrapher be?"

Dylan frowned, feeling conflicted. Sadie had never mentioned studying under anyone else. Did she even consider him her mentor?

"I believe the judges have noticed that my writing embodies the spirit of copperplate script," Sadie continued, "and that's because I had the privilege of receiving guidance from Ms. Iris Void!"
