Unmasking Mrs. Newton's Secret Identities novel Chapter 1313

Despite his initial reservations, Augustine quickly set them aside. In a subdued, respectful tone, he asked, "Ms. Spencer, may I take your piece for the Calligraphy Association's exhibition?"

Helen raised an eyebrow and playfully responded, "And what about this boy's cake?"

"Oh, I nearly forgot!" Augustine said, a moment of realization lighting up his face.

He passed the cake to the boy and leaned down to whisper, "Here you go, but you can only eat half. And don't mention to your mom that Grandpa bought it, okay?"

"Okay! Thank you, Grandpa!" the boy replied, his face lighting up with joy.

"Grandpa?" Helen's eyebrows shot up in surprise. She pointed at Augustine and asked the boy, "Is he really your grandpa?"

"Yup!" the boy said with a broad, goofy grin.

Helen shot Chandler an exasperated look, realizing she had become unnecessarily involved.

"Sorry," she said with a chuckle. "I thought—"

"It's nothing to worry about, Ms. Spencer," Augustine said, waving her off. "But on another note, would you be interested in joining the Glendale Calligraphy Association?"

"I'm already a member," Helen said with a casual shrug.

"What?" Augustine looked puzzled, clearly trying to process the information.

If Helen's calligraphy were to be graded, it would undoubtedly exceed his own. He was well-acquainted with the senior members of the association, and "Helen Spencer" certainly wasn't among them.

Could it be that she was a new entry-level member of a local calligraphy group?

What a waste of such talent. How could someone of her skill settle for a local association?

"How about this, Ms. Spencer? Let's exchange contact information, and I'll personally arrange for a re-evaluation for you!" Augustine said eagerly, signaling his grandson to get out his smartphone. "Come on, kiddo! Follow Ms. Spencer on Instagram!"

"Helen Spencer's," the staff member responded.

Sadie's breath caught in her throat.

She couldn't believe Helen knew Augustine. How was it possible that her work had been accepted into the VIP collection?

"Her name doesn't ring a bell," Dylan said pointedly. "Is she just another student Augustine picked up from the countryside?"

"Mr. Snyder, Helen is actually one of the finalists in the calligraphy competition," Sadie interjected meaningfully. "It seems she's not a member of the Calligraphy Association yet, though I could be mistaken."

"You're right, Ms. Fletcher," the staff member confirmed with a smile. "Mr. Crawford mentioned that her membership paperwork will be completed shortly."

"Nonsense!" Dylan snapped, his expression growing stern. "Do you think anyone can be deemed a calligraphy expert? Even if she were a member, her work wouldn't qualify for the VIP collection. How can you lack such basic discernment? Return that piece immediately!"
