The sudden warmth on Gideon's lips made his mind explode and his thoughts run wild.
He gripped Amelia by the shoulders before pushing her away. "Do you know what you're doing?"
Amelia had a distant look in her eyes as she gazed into his eyes. "I know! I like you! I won't regret it!"
As Gideon stared at her, he felt his final thread of rationality snap. Neither he nor she knew who started it all later on.
…
It wasn't every day Eli would quietly stay in his room to do his homework. His phone was on the table right beside him, and its screen kept flashing, telling him that he received some new messages.
He already knew who was sending him those messages although he didn't even tap the notification bars.
There were only three people in his WhatsApp contacts. The first person was Amelia, the second was Gideon, and the third was Dora.
When he was done with the final math question, he slowly picked up his phone. He didn't care if his answers were correct as long as he finished his homework.
He opened WhatsApp to see Dora bombarding him with a barrage of messages.
"What happened?
"Did my uncle head back already?
"Where are you, Eli?
"Are you there?
"Hello?
"I'll call the police if you don't answer me!
"Sobs. Are you there? Say something!"
He didn't give it much thought, though. After shutting the door, he told Dora, "Your uncle left."
"Thank goodness." Dora breathed a sigh of relief.
She hoped Amelia wouldn't have too hard of a time tonight. Gideon had only taken a sip of the drink, so he shouldn't have too much of a reaction. Therefore, Dora was safe from trouble tonight.
Early the next morning, Amelia awoke to the buzzing of her alarm clock. She tossed in bed only to find her entire body sore. It was as if she'd been run over by a car.
She extended a hand to feel the bed beside her. The sheets were cold. Gideon had left long ago. It was as though he had never come to her house.
If it weren't for how sore she felt all over and the messy sheets, she might've simply thought that what happened last night was just a dream.
As she sat up from the bed, the blanket slid down, exposing her bare skin. Scenes of the previous night played in her mind, making her heart race.
Last night, she took advantage of the effects of the drug to confess to Gideon again.
