Although it sounded troublesome, Eli still did as Dora requested. In fact, he would usually be the one waiting for Dora every time, especially in the morning.
It was quite a downpour that morning. Eli got out of the train with an umbrella and waited for Dora at the school gate like usual.
By then, the scab on his face had peeled off, revealing the skin beneath. After using the scar removal cream Hera gave him, he looked as he did in the past. The admirers who had kept their distance from him began to fall for him again.
One of them was Penelope Poole, a daughter from one of the top ten prestigious families.
She stepped out of her Rolls-Royce as a maid held an umbrella for her. The few girls who usually hung out with her were waiting at the school entrance for her. Upon noticing her arrival, they quickly held their umbrellas and stepped forward to welcome her.
Penelope thanked them with a smile but had no intention of holding an umbrella on her own. She followed them through the school gates and happened to spot Eli.
"Eli, why have you been waiting at the school gates lately? The rain is quite heavy, so you should quickly go back to class," Penelope said, having stopped in her tracks.
Eli ignored her as he continued looking downward at his phone.
Penelope wasn't embarrassed by Eli taking no notice of her. After all, that was how he usually was—aloof and always ignoring others. If it weren't for his good looks and the fact that he was Dora's crush, no one would even look at him.
Penelope very quickly noticed that not only did Eli have a phone, but it was the latest model. That took her by surprise as she remembered he didn't have a phone in the past.
Eli came from a poor family, so it was impossible for him to afford such a good phone. Someone must have given it to him. The first person that came to her mind was Dora.
"Is he waiting for Dora?" the friend next to Penelope asked.
"I heard that Dora has been forcing him to wait for her here."
Menace flashed through Penelope's gaze when she noticed how anxious he had been. However, she looked apologetic as she said, "I'm sorry, I'm sorry. It's all my fault for knocking into Janine and causing you to drop your phone. If it's spoiled, I'll pay for one."
Eli ignored Penelope as he quickly checked his phone. Thank goodness the phone was waterproof, so it was fine. He sighed in relief before carefully putting his phone into his pocket.
At that moment, another Rolls-Royce stopped in front of the school entrance. Someone recognized it as the Killian family's car. "Dora's here."
Eli looked up and happened to see Dora holding up an umbrella as she got out of the car. She waved at Bernard. "Bye, Daddy."
It wasn't rare to see kids being dropped off and picked up by private cars at the school entrance since most of the students came from affluent families.
However, the difference was nannies and drivers would usually drop off the kids at school. Dora was one of the rare ones whose parents would personally send her to school.
