Upon seeing how arrogant Eli was, Garret went up to Eli and stepped on his head, pressing it to the ground. "Don't think that I can't kill you! Killing you is a piece of cake. No one will dare to say anything!"
Eli stubbornly raised his head although his head was being stepped on. Half of his face was scratched. With a vicious gaze, he looked like a beast on the verge of death.
"You should just kill me, then! Otherwise, I might take revenge in the future," said Eli through gritted teeth.
"You have a death wish!" Then, Garret raised his leg and wanted to kick Eli again.
All of a sudden, the door was forcefully opened from the outside with a loud boom. A ray of light shone into the room, blinding everyone.
"Fuck! Who is it? Do you have a death wish?" Garret cursed angrily.
Eli raised his head. In the glaring light, he saw a tall and sturdy figure enter the room. For a moment, he thought that the figure was holy, like a hero who had come to rescue him. The figure was imprinted in his mind.
Once Garret had gotten used to the light, he cursed, "Who is it? Didn't I have Hyde guard the door? What happened?"
"Eli, are you inside?" At this time, a smaller figure with a sweet voice appeared at the entrance. The familiar voice shocked Eli. He didn't expect her to come.
The lights of the car outside were turned off. The people in the room finally recovered their sight and saw who had come.
Hyde Evans, whom Garret had instructed to guard the door, was lying on the ground groaning in pain. A tall man and Dora showed up at the door.
Upon seeing who had come, Eli was stunned. It was them! Not only did Dora come, but Gideon came as well! They had come to save him!
Warmth surged in his heart, which had been in despair at first. His hopes were rekindled, and he choked up emotionally.
Dora was shocked as she thought, "Uncle Gideon, didn't you ask me not to act on impulse? Why did you go over there yourself?"
"Fuck!" Garret raised the dagger in his hand and slashed it at Gideon. When Dora saw that, she screamed, "Uncle Gideon, watch out!"
A miserable scream sounded throughout the house that was rundown. Gideon grabbed Garret's wrist and stabbed the dagger into his thigh. It was the leg that was used to step on Eli.
"You're an adult. Didn't your mother tell you not to play with knives?"
Gideon's gentle expression and voice would've given off a warm feeling if the way he gripped Garret's wrist was ignored. He twisted the dagger forcefully.
"Ah…"
