To Be Yours Again novel (Alec and Jenny) novel Chapter 1322

Three days later, Jenny and Alec boarded the plane for their honeymoon. The first destination they'd chosen was Xeridia because many great legends about love originated from that country. Even though they might not necessarily be true, Jenny and Alec still wanted to go and see it for themselves.

At the same time, Graham and Lynette started their tour around the world as well. They decided not to travel with Jenny and Alec, as they also preferred to have private time with each other and no one else to make up for all their years apart.

However, fate had a funny way of arranging chance encounters when one least expected them. At their first stop, Graham and Lynette coincidentally ran into an old acquaintance that neither of them was particularly fond of.

Their first stop was Harthor, a small country with picturesque scenery. At the moment, they were strolling on the streets and browsing the wares the vendors had to offer. To be more exact, Graham was accompanying Lynette to shop around. Women, whether young or old, were generally unable to resist the temptation of acquiring items that were pleasing to their eyes. Shopping had always been something the fairer sex was enthusiastic about.

"What do you think of this one?" Lynette went into the fitting room and changed into a new set of clothes. Currently, she was standing in front of Graham and seeking his opinion.

Graham looked up and nodded in appreciation. "It looks very beautiful on you."

Lynette rolled her eyes at him. She'd tried many different outfits, and he'd yet to say she didn't look good in any of them. "Alright, let's go with this one and check out the shop next door."

Swiftly, the salesperson packed the outfit Lynette wanted into a bag. Graham carried all the shopping bags for Lynette as they made their way into the next store that sold bags.

"Welcome." The salesperson instinctively bowed and greeted them. But when she looked up and saw the person standing before her, she froze in shock. Right then, she wished the ground would give way and swallow her whole to spare her from embarrassment.

"Rowena?" Graham furrowed his brows and called out her name. He was surprised to see her there and couldn't quite come to terms with the fact that she was working as a salesperson in a store.

When they divorced, he'd given her a huge sum of money. That money should be enough for her to spend for the rest of her life!

Rowena's expression became strained and awkward, and her gaze constantly wandered between Graham and Lynette. After some time, she spoke up, "Rowena? You must have mistaken me for someone else. My name is Lucy."

"It's definitely you, Rowena! You're not fooling anyone," Graham exclaimed internally and was about to say what he thought out loud.

Meanwhile, Lynette had dragged Graham off to another store, and Graham still hadn't picked up on the cues. "Nettie, I'm absolutely sure that was Rowena. Why did you—"

"Think of it, Graham. For someone as proud as her to stoop to such a state…Do you think she wishes for others to recognize her?" As a woman herself, Lynette could gauge this much. That was why she steered Graham away so that Rowena could retain a tiny bit of dignity.

Lynette's reminder gave Graham an "Aha!" moment. "You're right. I'm just curious how she ended up like this. Even though I wasn't particularly happy with her demands during the divorce, I didn't mistreat her in any way."

"Who knows? A person's fate is predestined sometimes." Lynette didn't want to delve into the matter, and she didn't want Graham to delve into it either. After all, Rowena was his ex-wife. She would be a saint if she said she couldn't care less that Graham showed more concern than necessary for Rowena.

Even if she minded, she wouldn't find fault with Graham because of this. After all, she was no longer a naive and willful young girl in her twenties anymore.

"Is there anything else you would like to buy?" In the next second, Graham had Rowena out of his mind and continued shopping with Lynette.
