On the other end of the line, Naylor Wilson sounded urgent. “Hurry, call your

wife–her best friend might be in trouble!”

Jamison didn’t waste a second. He handed his phone to Ivy. “It’s Naylor–he says he needs to talk to you. It’s about Katrina.”

Ivy’s face went pale as she grabbed the phone. “Hello, Mr. Wilson?”

“Ivy, I think I just saw Ms. Lester. She looked drunk and was being led away by someone–I couldn’t make out who exactly, but it looked like Emma Windsor. There was a man with them too, maybe Sheridan Carter. You need to check on Ms. Lester right away, see if she’s safe.”

Naylor barely knew Katrina. They’d only met once, over dinner when Jamison and Ivy signed their marriage papers. So he wasn’t certain he’d recognized her

correctly, but it was better to be safe than sorry.

Ivy’s heart hammered in her chest. “Where are they?”

“Elysium Towers. Jamison knows the place. They took Ms. Lester into the elevator, probably up to one of the hotels.”

Ivy’s voice shook with urgency. “Mr. Wilson, could you please go look for her? I’ll call Katrina right now.”

“I’m on it. You check with her–I’ll go upstairs to see.”

As soon as the call ended, Ivy turned to Jamison. “We-”

“No need to explain. Let’s go. Naylor’s not the type to mistake someone,” Jamison interrupted, already leading her at a jog toward the parking garage.

On the way, Ivy pulled out her phone and dialed Katrina’s number.

Once. No answer.

Twice. Still nothing.

A third time–again, it just rang and rang.

“She’s not picking up. What if something’s really happened to her…” Ivy’s voice trembled as panic set in.

“Don’t panic. I’ll call Naylor and tell him to hurry,” Jamison reassured her quickly dialing his friend. “Naylor, Katrina’s not answering her phone. I think you’re right- must’ve been her. Please look for her as fast as you can.

Chapter 511

“Got it, I’m already heading upstairs.”

“We’re on our way.”

After hanging up, Jamison grabbed Ivy’s hand and picked up the pace, offering comfort as they ran. “Don’t worry. Naylor’s already there. He’ll find Katrina.”

But Ivy’s fears wouldn’t be soothed. “What if he can’t?”

“We talked just this afternoon. She said her aunt was visiting from out of town and they were going to visit her mom at the hospital, then have dinner together. That’s why I didn’t go see her tonight.”

“How could she end up drunk and run into Emma? Emma hates me–if she can’t get

at me, she’ll take it out on Katrina instead…”

With every step, Ivy’s dread only grew.

She couldn’t shake the fear that her own vendetta with the Windsor family had dragged her best friend into this mess. If anything happened to Katrina, she’d never forgive herself.

Jamison squeezed her hand. “Ivy, stay calm. If it really is Emma, Boyd’s people are watching her–they’ll be able to help. As long as they’re in the hotel, it won’t take long to find out what room they’re in.” Without waiting, he called Boyd.

Boyd was startled by the news. “I only told my guys to keep an eye on Emma, make sure she didn’t get near Ivy, and to report any trouble immediately. Otherwise…I’ll ask them now. Right now!”

By the time Jamison and Ivy reached the car, Boyd called back.

“My guys say Sheridan brought Emma to Elysium Towers for a business meeting tonight. They haven’t left. They’re still watching Sheridan’s car.”

Boyd sounded confused and worried. “Uncle, what’s going on? Is Ivy in danger?”

“Emma just abducted Ivy’s best friend and took her upstairs to the hotel with Sheridan. Naylor saw it and called us. Tell your guys to coordinate with Naylor and search the hotel together.”

“Jesus! On it–I’m heading over right now!” Boyd exclaimed, already springing into action.

Jamison hung up and turned to Ivy. “It really was Sheridan and Emma who took Katrina.”
