Daniel turned to Smart with a grin and said, “Look, you’ve lost. So, get on the ground and start licking up the wine like a dog, not a drop less!”

As Daniel reached to pour the wine on the floor, Smart protested loudly.

“I refuse to accept this!”

“Refuse to accept? You’ve lost fair and square; nothing you say now can change that fact.”

“Country bumpkin, don’t think I don’t know that you’ve cheated! Because you cheated, I don’t accept this outcome! Your cocktail is surely terrible and can't compare to Catherine’s. Those deceitful girls must have been bribed by you!”

Smart, struck by a sudden thought, declared, “If you want me to accept the result, have Catherine try your cocktail. If she admits defeat—if she says your drink is better than hers—only then will I acknowledge the result.”
