“Come to my office,” Stanley Batton said.
Zack Cassidy was shocked.
Prior to this, Stanley never had the habit of holding meetings in his office.
Was it because Xyla Quest was around today?
In the past, Stanley would never allow any unrelated individuals in his meetings.
Meanwhile, despite Xyla being here today, he actually asked for the meeting to be held here.
How could he do this when so much of the company’s confidential information would be discussed during the meeting?
Although Zack had a lot of questions on his mind, he nodded politely. “Yes, Master Batton.”
“Tell them the meeting will be held an hour later,” Stanley said.
“Yes,” Zack responded.
“Are you sure it’s okay for me to be present during the meeting?” Xyla asked while she ate.
“What’s the issue?” Stanley asked.
“I’m sure you would be discussing things that outsiders shouldn’t overhear, isn’t that so?” Xyla asked.
“You’re not an outsider,” Stanley said.
“Still, I don’t think it’s a good idea. Your staff would think otherwise. What would they say?” Xyla added.
“Who’d dare?” Stanley said calmly. With that, he grabbed a few pieces of cabbage from a takeaway container and placed them all in her bowl. “Here, you like these. Have some more.”
Zack felt extremely uncomfortable with how caring Stanley was behaving.
This was no longer the Stanley he knew. Stanley had changed!
After that, Stanley looked at Zack. “Go on…”
During the meeting, he seemed very strict. The gilded fountain pen in his hand was lightly tapping on a document while he seemed very much focused. Occasionally, he would nod.
A lot of points were brought up during the meeting. He would always be able to point out the roots of the issues accurately and offer solutions to resolve them.
Xyla was once again amazed by Stanley’s capabilities.
Although the meeting involved a lot of internal information that was confidential, Stanley didn’t mind discussing with everyone in front of Xyla.
Since it was clear Stanley was in a good mood, the high-level executives felt much more relaxed in the meeting. Whenever they were met with problems, they would show a more positive attitude during the discussions than they did before.
By the time Xyla won her second match in the game, the meeting had come to an end.
Stanley slowly closed the folder in his hand before looking at the group of people in front of him. “Meeting adjourned,” he said.
After that, Stanley looked over at the couch where Xyla was seated with his laptop in her arms. “Darling,” he called out gently.
Xyla instantly turned to look at him with a smile. “What’s up?”
