Chapter 72 Help Me
“Celeste!”
Marcus shouted down the hallway, his voice echoing, “Can you hear me?”
Marcus’s voice briefly jolted Celeste’s fading consciousness. Driven by her strong will to survive, she mustered enough, strength to raise her hand and knock on the door weakly.
“Marcus…”
“I… I’m here,” she whispered, her voice faint.
Her voice was barely audible, almost impossible to hear, but Marcus’s instincts kicked in, and he moved closer to the warehouse. Seeing the locked door, he raised his hand and knocked. “Celeste, are you in there?”
Celeste tried to lift her hand to respond but no longer had the strength.
Celeste thought, ‘Marcus… please, open the door,‘
Marcus looked at the nurse and said, “Open the door.”
The nurse apologized, “I’m sorry, Marcus, the key is with the warehouse manager. I don’t have it.”
“Where’s the spare?”
“It’s… in the director’s office.”
Marcus’s face grew darker as he ordered, “Go get it now.”
The nurse nodded, quickly running upstairs to retrieve the key.
Meanwhile, Marcus stood by the door, calling out, “Celeste! Are you in there? If you are, respond to me!” “Celeste!”
Celeste’s phone slipped from her hand, clattering to the ground as she lost all strength and collapsed, unconscious. From outside the door, Marcus heard a faint noise. He called out again, “Celeste!”
No answer came, but he knew she was inside. His eyes flicked to the fire extinguisher nearby, and without hesitation, he grabbed it and began smashing the lock.
“Bang! Bang! Bang!” The loud thuds echoed down the quiet hallway.
After Marcus had struck the door lock no less than twenty times, it finally broke, and the once–locked door swung open.
His eyes immediately landed on Celeste, lying motionless on the floor. Panic surged through him as he tossed aside the fire extinguisher and rushed to her side, pulling her into his arms.
When his hands made contact with her icy skin, a rush of dread hit him.
“Celeste, hang in there! I’m taking you to the doctor right now!”
Marcus carefully cradled her freezing body and rushed upstairs to find a doctor. Upon seeing how cold she was, the doctor immediately instructed him to bring her to a room and use warm water to thaw her out.
“Bang.”
Marcus shut the doctor out of the room and hurriedly turned on the water in the bathroom to warm her body.
“Celeste, stay awake!”
“Celeste!”
At that moment, Celeste felt frozen in place, trapped in ice. She tried to break free, but her body refused to move. She could only remain trapped in the cold.
Suddenly, a wave of heat began to melt the ice around her. Slowly, warmth returned to her body, and as soon as the heat hit her, the effects of the drug inside her began to intensify.
“It’s so hot…”
Seeing Celeste finally react, Marcus’s voice trembled with urgency. “Celeste, open your eyes and look at me.”
“It’s so hot…”
The heat felt as if her body might explode from the inside

help me…”
Celeste let out a strained, muffled groan. “So hot
Hearing her distress, Marcus immediately stopped pouring the hot water over her.
He grabbed a nearby towel and wrapped her in it. “Celeste, how do you feel now?”
Celeste slowly opened her eyes, her vision blurry as she looked up at Marcus holding her. Weakly, she reached out and

grabbed his arm. “Help me…”
Marcus looked down at her flushed face, his concern deepening. “What do you need me to do for you?”
“I… I took a lot of aphrodisiacs to keep myself from freezing to death, and now the effects are kicking in. Please help me!”
Marcus froze, speechless.
“There’s a doctor outside. I’ll go get them to help you with the antidote.”
Celeste thought, ‘This is the drug I made myself. No ordinary remedy can counter the potent aphrodisiac coursing through my body.‘
‘If I want to neutralize it, I’ll have to prepare the antidote myself, but in my current state, I don’t have the strength to do it. So, if I’m going to get any relief, I’ll have to rely on Marcus.‘
“I don’t think the doctors outside can help me,” she said, her voice strained. “Please, help me. If you don’t want to, just find any man who can help, I don’t care.”
Marcus froze. He thought, ‘Find anyone? She does seem that indifferent.’
Marcus lifted Celeste and opened the bathroom door, addressing the doctors waiting outside. “She’s fine now. You can leave.”
Then, Marcus carried Celeste out of the hospital and into the car.
Celeste, struggling with discomfort, was placed in the passenger seat. “Where are you taking me?” she asked weakly. “Home,” he replied, his voice firm. The hospital was too crowded and too public. Marcus thought, ‘I can’t do this here! Celeste gripped the seatbelt tightly, breathing heavily as the pain intensified.
“I can’t stand it anymore. Can you at least find a hotel to help me?”
