The Royal Military Academy's Impostor Owns a Dungeon [BL] novel Chapter 444

Chapter 444: Notice

A low chime echoed through the cockpit, followed by a ping, and Kyle immediately tapped the comms after seeing who it was.

The screen flickered to life, revealing two familiar faces: Luca—still faintly glowing with residual energy—and his boss, who looked remarkably untouched by the countless rounds and rescue operations he’d just led.

"Brother!" Ollie piped up, excited to hear from him

"Hello, brother! Did you encounter difficulties when evacuating?" Luca began, voice worried, though still alert. "We just returned from a sweep, and thank goodness, the daycare perimeter only registered minor crystal spikes. No one was hurt—it happened so early that none of the customers had even arrived yet. I was so worried, but we were lucky."

Xavier added, "We’re still determining whether the crystalquake was natural. There are irregularities in the seismic signature—possibly environmental, but the deviations are sharp enough that we can’t rule out external interference. For now, the priority is ensuring the civilians beyond the perimeter are safe."

Ollie blinked. "We’re fine, brother! And thank you for letting Kyle teleport. I-I...well, I overslept..." he coughed before changing the topic, "So, you’re saying someone might have triggered this?"

"Possibly," Xavier said. "But that’s not a conclusion. Just a consideration."

Luca nodded. "For now, it’s just a heads-up. Oh—and classes are officially suspended," Luca added gently, though a faint note of disappointment slipped through.

And Ollie, ever perceptive when it came to Luca, was certain his good brother was crushed—after all, Luca was probably the only student in the entire school who genuinely liked going to class.

Kyle raised a brow, not forgetting to look at the blonde who was probably reacting to this. "All departments?"

True enough.

Ollie’s ears twitched, and though he was practically fist-pumping on the inside at the news of class suspension, he also quietly repented—because with joy like this, his soul was definitely not going to heaven.

"Yes," Xavier confirmed. "Announcement went out two minutes ago. Standard procedure. Aftershocks are typical in resonant quakes like this."

"So, just wrap up your patrol and head back. We’ve already started coordinating with faculty to assess structural damage."

The comms cut off soon after they said their goodbyes, leaving the cockpit quiet except for the steady hum of the mecha’s systems.

Kyle leaned back slightly. "We’ll finish this next zone, then head back."

Ollie nodded, the tension still slowly unraveling from his shoulders.

Outside, the sky was brighter than expected. But under that light, the cracks on the ground—and in their assumptions—were beginning to show.

___

The moment they landed, Ollie was ready to be helpful—until he noticed something.

People were staring.

Not at the mecha. But at him.

At them.

Because he’d exited the mecha like that.

Since there was no proper landing pad, Ollie had no choice but to be carried out, cradled unceremoniously in Kyle’s arms like an oddly dressed damsel who wasn’t even wearing his own coat.

At least he had the foresight to hide his star headband, blanket, and pillow.

Big help in preserving his image as a manly man. Ehem.

Ollie flushed, still nestled in Kyle’s arms as they descended. Once they touched solid ground, he immediately squirmed. "I can walk! I can totally walk." He patted Kyle’s solid chest in urgency, already aware of the stares drilling into the side of his face.

Kyle raised a brow, bemused. "Are you sure?"

"Yes!" Ollie said with the confidence of someone lying to himself. He adjusted the borrowed coat, tugged at the hem of his fuzzy pajama pants, and stood like a wobbly baby deer. "I don’t need to be carried around like a baby in front of everyone."

"You never minded before."

"That’s before everyone started looking at us like that!"

Kyle let out a low chuckle. "People have always looked, you know. Most are probably used to it by now—you’re just finally starting to notice."

Ollie lightly thumped his fist against Kyle’s chest, face burning. "You’re so shameless."

"And you’re very red," Kyle said, amused.

Ollie made a strangled noise and stormed ahead, only to trip on the edge of the uneven ground, with those backup shoes that he had never really gotten to break in.

Kyle caught him without missing a beat.

"Careful."

Ollie pouted, fully aware that the laughter behind them was from that shameless giant.

The moment he caught sight of the others, however, the pout vanished.

"Everyone’s here!" Ollie beamed, running over to the gathered members. "Is everyone okay?"

Princess Kira gave him a thumbs-up. "No injuries. But uh... we kinda blew out half the girls’ dormitory wall. Not really our fault, it wasn’t made with stronger materials." freewebnσvel.cøm
