As soon as those words left his mouth, the room fell into a deathly silence.
The speaker was none other than Preston, his bloodshot eyes burning with fury.
Having witnessed Fang kill his father with his own eyes, Preston's hatred for Nolan was irreconcilable—it was a feud that could never be resolved. Was he unafraid of death? Of course not. He was terrified. But at this moment, he understood clearly that none of them had a real chance of survival.
If Malcolm were still alive, there might still be room to negotiate. But Malcolm was almost certainly dead.
"Preston, shut up! If you want to die, don't drag us down with you!"
"Yeah, Preston, have you lost your mind? Mr. Greene has been talking to us calmly up to this point, and here you are provoking him. What's your deal?"
"Preston, you worthless idiot, shut that filthy mouth of yours and stop provoking Mr. Greene!"
There was no need for Nolan to do anything. Terrified of being caught in the crossfire, the people kneeling on the ground began hurling insults at Preston, as if he had become a traitor among them.
Nolan's expression remained unchanged as he looked at Preston. He walked up to him and asked calmly, "Why are you so certain that Lense is dead?"
Preston laughed out loud and said, "Why? Naturally, it's because I know for sure that he's dead. Let's be honest, doesn't anyone here really not know Malcolm's fate? Sure, we didn't actually see him being executed with our own eyes, but anyone with a bit of sense would know he couldn't have survived.
"Because Mr. Norberg never intended to let the president of Myth Group live from the very beginning. Malcolm's dead—Mr. Norberg said so himself. And the reason we believed it was simple. If he wanted Malcolm alive, he wouldn't have sent someone as ruthless as Hound to deal with him.
"Even if they didn't treat him with respect, at the very least, they should've been civil, right? But what happened instead? By the time Malcolm was brought in, he was already barely hanging on to life. They're all pretending to be innocent now, but let me tell you something, Nolan—none of them are blameless. When Malcolm died, every single one of them cheered and celebrated. Hahaha!"
At that moment, Preston's eyes had turned bloodshot with rage, and he looked as if he might lunge forward and sink his teeth into Nolan.
Fang quickly stepped forward to explain, "When we went to capture him, his entire family resisted, especially his father, Mr. Duane. He was completely unreasonable and even insulted us, so I killed him. Mr. Greene, if you wish to punish me, I'll accept it willingly."
Nolan glanced at Fang and spoke calmly, "You did nothing wrong, so why would I punish you? I've said before—I only care about results. Especially at a moment like this when it concerns Lense's life or death. Everyone is an enemy. Killing one or two people—is that enough? No. Perhaps only wiping out every single one of them would truly suffice."
In the most composed tone, Nolan uttered the most ruthless words.
Hearing this, Preston went completely mad and began hurling furious insults at Nolan.
"Nolan, you won't die a good death! Mark my words, Mr. Norberg will definitely avenge us! You may have captured all of us, but you haven't touched a single person from the Norberg family. Isn't that because even you're afraid of them?"
