The price of betrayal (Jack and Ashley) novel Chapter 516

The 50 or so men in black immediately pledged their loyalty to Megan, each one vowing to protect her with their lives. However, Megan knew that not all of them could be fully trusted. Still, having them was better than going alone.

"Let's go," she commanded.

After getting into the car, the convoy set off for the address Nolan had provided.

It didn't take long for them to arrive. When they got there, security personnel dressed in a black uniform stopped the convoy and requested a search.

However, after Megan mentioned that they were invited by Nolan, it seemed the security personnel had received the information beforehand, so they were allowed to proceed without further issues. The convoy drove on until it reached the gates of Misty Hill, where they were stopped once again.

Sirius himself was stationed at the gates of Misty Hill. When he saw the 50 or so men in suits stepping out of the vehicles, he didn't even bother sparing them a glance.

"This is Misty Hill. You'll need to enter on foot."

Megan looked at Sirius and nodded slightly. "My people will come with me."

Sirius gave a casual nod. "That's fine. Mr. Greene didn't say they couldn't enter. But remember this—once inside Misty Hill, they must follow the rules. No wandering around without permission and absolutely no touching or damaging anything, no matter how small. In short, not even a blade of grass is to be disturbed. If anyone violates these rules, they'll have to pay the price."

Sirius's words were arrogant, to say the least.

Still, Megan didn't say anything further. She simply led her group into Misty Hill.

The moment they stepped inside, Megan, Jeanne, and the 50 or so men in suits all froze at the entrance, unable to take another step.

When Megan and Nolan got divorced, if there had been a proper division of assets, Megan would have had to hand over at least half of Megan Corporation to Nolan. Did she give him anything? No. Now that she was envious, did she really think Nolan would just agree to give her half of Misty Hill?

Jeanne chuckled awkwardly. "Haha, maybe… but I doubt Nolan would agree to that."

Megan sneered, "I've known from the start he wouldn't agree, and I'm not holding my breath. But who says this estate can't be mine?"

Her eyes lit up, the envy in them growing even stronger.

"Myth Group is already ours—what's an estate compared to that? Just wait, Jeanne. Once I meet Owen and we finalize our plans, mark my words—Nolan will be down on his knees begging me to take this estate."
