As the black-clad figure stared at Nolan—whose gaze burned with a fierce, murderous intent, he actually hesitated for a brief moment. Nolan's glare was so heavy with fury that it felt almost tangible.
Even through the screen, the chilling coldness of his wrath seemed capable of freezing one to the bone. But when the black-clad figure sensed the depth of the murderous intent and experienced a fleeting moment of fear, his anger only intensified.
"Fine then, we'll wait for you to come find us!"
With that, the black-clad figure abruptly ended the video call. However, what he himself didn't even realize was the moment he did that, a wave of unconscious relief washed over him.
Looking at Malcolm, the black-clad figure smirked. "Now that Nolan can't see you, you can drop your tough guy act. Just sign the damn contract. Wouldn't it be better to spare yourself more suffering? Besides, your boss said it himself—give us what we want, and you'll keep your life."
Malcolm gave a grim smile and said, "If you want to kill me, go ahead. And if I flinch even once, then I, Malcolm Gould, am no true man!"
"Brave words!" The black-clad figure nodded approvingly. "I originally thought about taking credit for this, but it seems I won't be able to bring you down for the boss. Fine then, let's go. But I'll warn you—if you keep this attitude when you meet my boss, you're going to die a very, very painful death."
With that, the black-clad figure forcibly took Malcolm away.
Meanwhile, the banquet was still in full swing at Owen's estate. The guests were lively, drinking and laughing with unrestrained joy. Malcolm, however, was escorted through the back door and brought directly to Owen's study.
Hearing this, both Owen and Tyson immediately perked up, their interest piqued. Everyone knew that Myth Group had a mysterious boss behind the scenes, but no one except Malcolm knew who it was. So, if Hound had actually encountered this elusive figure, it was indeed an unexpected surprise.
"Who is his boss?"
Hound shook his head and replied, "Never heard of him before. Seems like his name is Nolan Greene. Young guy—probably in his late 20s. Looks pretty arrogant, but he seems a bit more pragmatic than Malcolm.
"When I was torturing Malcolm, this Nolan guy was watching through the video feed. He even told Malcolm to sign the contract to avoid further suffering, but Malcolm? Nah, he refused—kept going on about his loyalty and devotion. Honestly, the guy must have a few loose screws in his head."
