The price of betrayal (Jack and Ashley) novel Chapter 491

Megan shivered slightly before slowly turning to face Nolan. With a smile, she said, "Nolan, what are you even talking about? How could I be using your parents? I genuinely wanted to treat them well."

She pointed at Niall and Liana, adding, "I'm not like Tyler or Sharon. What they did was way too much—it makes me mad enough to kill them just hearing about it. But honestly, Nolan, what happened between us was just a little misunderstanding, don't you think?"

A little misunderstanding?

This "misunderstanding" seemed to be more than just a little one.

"You're right. You're not like Tyler or Sharon. But Megan, if you were, do you think you'd even be standing in front of me today? Tyler had his limbs chopped off and his tongue cut out. I don't think I need to remind you what his future will look like.

"As for Sharon, Niall is soft-hearted and hasn't done anything to her yet, but once the results of the paternity test come out, do you really think she'll have a good ending?"

Looking at Megan, Nolan narrowed his eyes slightly. "Let me be honest with you, even if the child Sharon's carrying is Niall's, she still won't have a good outcome. The idea that she could use the child to make me forgive her is impossible!"

Nolan's words were cold and ruthless enough to send a chill down anyone's spine. He could easily do something as brutal as leaving a mother to die while sparing her child.

"Megan, would you believe me if I told you that everything you've achieved today was due to my support behind the scenes?"

He then turned to Wayne and Melody, offering them a light smile. "Mom, Dad, I'm not a monster. I'm still Nolan, your son. It's just that I've made something of myself."

With those words, everything was crystal clear.

Wayne and Melody nodded. "Of course, you're still our son. You've just grown up."

Nolan gave a faint smile before turning his attention back to Megan. "Megan, everything that needs to be said has already been said. From the moment you divorced me and turned your back on me after I got out of prison, there's been no connection between us. Or rather, from the moment you decided to go after me, even wanting me dead… That's when our bond was truly broken."
